Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Imagine the attachments a Dalek would have in such a movie :horror

Come to think of it Alpha Centauri from the Peladon stories of the Jon Pertwee era wouldn't look so out of place either if it's color was changed to pink.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I hope they dont sell through 7 too quickly if they go up while Im teaching. I NEED 7.. badly.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Mike's has them for order now. A bit round-a-bout system but highly reliable and they ship the same time as WhoNA.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I usually get mine about the same time as WhoNA folk. Maybe a day or two later. I ordered my Seven and Dalek from Mike. But 7 and TARDIS will be from WhoNA.

I really love BOTH of these!!!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

and 10 is now, officially, the most under articulated IMPORTANT figure in the line. Here's hoping the 11 Doctors box set is kind.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

1) I 100% agree and 2) it won't be. :monkey2

Then that's just pathetic. And really.. eliminates my need for the set if 8 is coming on a single card or two pack. What I'd like to know is, will they now put the eras of 9 and 10 into the "Classics" range? or are we destined to not see figures from these eras for a long time?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I think everything from the eras of 9 & 10 that stood a decent chance of selling well to kids has already been done.

With a new Doctor, companion and baddies to focus on CO probably feel there's little point in paying out for a new body mold for 10 because improved articulation won't be enough to make kids who likely already have more than one of the other versions pester their parents to buy any more.

I think the 10 in the box set will be the EOT version only without the scars.

I agree. It is sad that Ten got the crap body.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

And that really ticks me off. I say just pack them into the Classics line, since it's obvious they want the collector money, and give us a GOOD 10 and a repaint of 9 but with the sonicscrewdrivers CLOSED instead of extended. Heck, pack 9 and 10 with the updated Dalek sculpt for all I care just gimme em.

Depends on your POV of 10 :naughty

Having said that once CO started adding the extra articulation even my dubious logic would say that 10 should have been the prime choice for an upgrade but for some reason they didn't bother......maybe they needed the money to help develop one of the Classic molds?

Apparently the Doctor has regenerated as a 70's porn star.

I've tried watching it.. it's quite unwatchable lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Both 7 & the Imperial Dalek turned out nicely, mine will probably arrive next week while I'm away.

d_jedi1,
Intresting link! that does sound bad but having sat through 4 full series of the RTD era before calling it a day I think I could get all the way through it :D

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Made a very rare foray into Toys R Us today to pick up some Lego blocks for a molding project, saw this and nabbed it. I keep feeling something's very odd if I'm breaking any news in this thread, but...here it is.

I haven't opened it yet, and the plastic is a bit scratched over the face. Appears to me to be a new sculpt, but I'll know for sure when I've opened it and compared.

I had no idea Toys R Us in California stocked these things...I've been scouring the internet, all I had to do was drive a few blocks. $12.99.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

How's this for cool:

My stepfather in law once arrived home to find William Hartnell (Doc no.1) having tea with his mom in Newcastle upon Tyne. Turns out they were old friends. And this last weekend Patrick Troughton's (Doc no. 2) daughter gave my daughter a drama workshop before a new production of Romeo & Juliet in Stratford upon Avon, starring Sam Troughton...the Doc's grandson! Woooah!
