The yellow hose is actually supposed to connect to the gray belt via a leather belt hook.

There is a ring on his belt, but that doesn't appear to be the location for this tube. Unless it's meant to go nowhere:confused:

That one was meant to hold the unholstered wand in the films. It appears that Mattel chose not to give the figure another one to connect the hose to.

Yeah, no one knows for sure what it's for, could have been inspired by air force pilots uniforms. Basically, it's purely cosmetic...a doohicky!

Love your review Jackthe ripper, depending on what head you get, (spencer's or the other guy's) you get to keep the look of the body. Spencer's head looks more of GB1 where he was thiner, the other guy's head looks like GB2, where he ate all the chinese food he could get and got chubbier... so...

I think I'm gonna pass on this figure. I want Ghostbuster figs, but I can't do repaints and that head is awful. Looks like they patterned it off the cartoon.

I'm glad you all like him though. Enjoy!

Now I'm wishing I would have spent that money on Sideshow Han instead of this stinker. . .seriously.

I'm with Ween on this one. He needs so much work to be keepable. I complained about all that before, but gave into the pressure to buy when he actually popped up for sale. Now, I'm thinking I'll probably get rid of him when he arrives. Unless his Proton Pack just blows me away.

I was hoping to hear some "he looks way better in person than he does in the pictures." But. . .I ain't hearing it :lol

Dr Ray Stantz: Everybody can relax, I found the car. Needs some suspension work and shocks. Brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end.

Dr. Peter Venkman: How much?
Dr Ray Stantz: Only $4800.
[Venkman looks shocked]
Dr Ray Stantz: Also new rings, mufflers, a little wiring....

But in retrospect, there are only about 40 of those ambulances in existance, so Ray did ok at the end of the day. In otherwords I feel that for the basics you get here, its well worth it. Find me a light up pack anywhere else, let alone with the flight suit etc. for $60. Just comes down to convenience for me.

The gloves really don't look that bad. A coat of clear gloss and I think they'd work just fine. Darth Maul glove seem like they'd work too.
Seeing that shot with Slimer I wouldn't mind a 1/6 version and am kinda curios if DST Slimer bank would work. It's 8" or so.

There's a start! Get one of Spenser's heads, make some mods here and there, and you've got youself one hell of GB figure...hopefully. He's not that much of a lost cause.

Well, as Kuzeh said, it's got alot going for it and alot wrong (mostly what we all knew going in was wrong).

KEEPERS:

The PACK AND TRAP are excellent. The detailing is incredible. So worth my $60 just to NOT have to paint all that detail.

GOGGLES are good-enough but need some serious weathering.

OK, so I guess the proto pack can turn on but not off... you have to let it cycle for 30 seconds until auto shut-off.

Also wish the hose was poseable. It wants to stick out everywhere when you place it on the pack.

The extra bits 'o gear are also pretty good.

Surprisingly, I like the SUIT. Sure, it may need some dye treatment, but its much better than I thought and with some proper futzing will look fine (once all the gear is on and that belt is replaced). Faux zippers and the oversized nature of the trim is not accurate, but it doesn't look so bad in person. Honest. Plus you got that green hose attached, the logo and name badge... it's ready to ghost.

SALVAGEABLE:

GLOVES AND BOOTS. The unique zipper is there on the boots, but a pair of newlines would look oh-so awesome. The gloves also look pretty good and accurate. The fingers are really stiff and difficult to get the gun into grip. Mando's right, maybe some gloss... although I'd hate for it to get tacky and damage the gun.

NEED REPLACING:

ELBOW PADS. Horrible.

the white plastic WEB BELT. Was a real cloth web belt really so expensive?

the walkie. Though finding one with that 80's antennea ain't gonna be easy. Actually, you could probably keep the walkie and just replace the WALKIE POUCH.

SCULPT. It's very cartoony -- which some may find alright considering this is a comedy -- but thankfully there's other sculpts out there to save this.

Man, he is really big. Glad I passed.

I guess this means Movie Superman and Zod will be huge as well. . . . .

How the ^^^^^k do you get this guy out of the box without destroying it???

I know!! Pain in the neck... I just cut all the twisties, bands and rubber bands with scissors...

I used Maul's gloves for the quick mod on the TT, they work great, the Mattel's hands are huge, so they don't work at all...

I think that's way too big, maybe the NECA Slimer bobblehead will work better...

Not at all, I'm telling you, the suit works great on the TT...

Exactly...
I mean, just looks at my pics on the TT, it makes a huge difference!!
BTW, I used HT Godfather's fatsuit... and a regular TT,
so, I think I'll use regular for Ray and Winston (I already have one!), and Slim for Peter and Egon...

The unknown Ghostbuster...

The lights are really bright!

And this is about what he looks like...

Honestly, I know he looks... well, not so great, but he will require the same amount of work that the HT Aliens Marines did: new sculpt, new body, some new bits and some weathering and futzing and he should make a kick ass Ray.

Here's hoping... :)
