thats a really cool flight suit ur using mate, what is it? where it from? u guna cut the name tag and arm patch off the mattel suit?

karamazov80, thanks for posting the photos of Vartal's unpainted Ray head. It does look really good...Better than I thought. Really great Aykroyd likeness. I just think it needs a bit more hair sculpted on the top to get that 'high hair' look he had in GB...but the face sculpt looks GREAT!

As for my GB 12" Ray with the switched-out flight-suit, here it is! Still needs a little futzing (might be a tiny bit 'too' padded...but it looks better on a TT...for now it's on the Mattel body until I get Spencer's repainted heads in...) Also still needs to be dyed to the more green/grey of the suits in the film...it's still too tan/taupe. Then I'll add the nametag and the GB logo to the sleeve! Anyways, here is the WIP so far...

i dont friggin believe this, WHY would they release a slimed version and not just a regular version??? i mean the plus side i guess is that it will be a break up from just nicey clean suits but still. and is there a bigger pic? that is a very small pic. and why does venkman have that goofyass face? this so weird. why did they show a regular venkman but say they are gonna release the slimed version? doesnt make sense. its not like they have to worry much about small kids since its not in stores.

also, whats the deal with the "soft" wands? just how soft are they? like, are they REALLY soft like where its like foam or is it harder then that? im gonna have to wait till next week to see for myself but still, is it that bad?

To milk the fans for as much money as possible. Same reason for releasing Peck first. The most desirable figure of the whole line will probably be "clean" Venkman. As such, people will be less interested in the line as a whole once they pick up the entire "clean" crew. So, they save their big guns for later.

With Egon, though, the slime isn't very noticeable IMO. As such, if they try to release a "clean" version, I will pass, as will others, I figure.

That flight suit does look good. I bet it would look even better on a slightly smaller body.

yeah it does look really good. esp after it has been dyed slightly and the patches on then put on a hot toys bod with less padding.

Thanks guys! The suit really does look great...it looks even better in person. It is still a bit over-padded...I sort-of did that on purpose to 'stretch and shape' the suit when I water-treated it...It also does look WAY better on the narrow-shoulder TT than it does on the Mattel body. Not as tight.

teabelly, it'll definitely look really cool once it's dyed, has the patches and yellow leg hose on and is switched to the TT!

I won't be switching it to the TT until after I get Spencer's heads back from Josh all painted up. That probably won't be for a few months though, so this'll have to do for now.

As for the flight suit, I'll check again to see which one it is and get back to you...it's a newer one though. I just liked how the chest pockets looked more like the one's on the screen-used suits...and the velcro straps around the waist are more 'appropriately' scaled too! :D

yeah totaly mate it will look way better on a hot toys body. yeah if u padded it out to stretch it then that be good, it should hang alittle looser, remember dan wasnt soo fat in the 1st movie so u shudnt need too much padding. jst enough to make him look bigger than the other guys.

so ru taking the patches and the leg hose off the mattel suit and sticking em to that suit?

yeh if ucan find out what flight suit it is let me know mate, pm me or something,. i been looking at others like that.

Yeah they're great,
I have to say that even though I normally collect Hot Toys and a couple of the Sideshow lines,I'm actually really Impressed with 12" Ray,
the packaging for a MIB collector like me is awesome (although i am now considering gettign a loose set of these guys.....Gulp)
I just like the overall package, the white collectors box, followed by the neat fitting plastic box inside works really well I think,
And yes now counting down to Egon and Winston :)

Kindest regards

yeah thats y i got 2 of the 12" rays, and i plan on getting 2 of the others each aswel, so ican keep 1 inb the original box and use the other for customizing with.

ray padded out looks pretty good. I padded mine a little not too much and it really makes a big difference.

i asked this before, but how are the "wands" for the 6" figures? are they VERY soft or like more bendy? thats what they look like. will they break easy or pretty durable?

They are very bendy. I kinda found them annoying at the start because obviously they form into shapes not conistent with the real wands. They are durable though. I'd say the only real way you could break em would be to pull them very hard or bend them a full 180 degrees.

The good side if any is they will never break if they fall on the ground. Not sure why they used bendy versions for the wands on the 6 inch versions maybe it was just they didn't want to waste money mass producing small wands made of metal so just went rubber.

The bad side is they don't seem to stay straight and can form annoying unwanted bends.

is there anything you can coat or dip the wands in, like to make them more solid? i was thinking coating them in like super glue or something. do you know anything that would work?

yeah as said above they do bend pretty easily but in my opinion they seem to have stayed in shape on mine ok. and you cant tell how soft they are when the proton wand is in the figures hand, or attatched to the pack.

Yeah, I don't get the complaints about the wand. The decision was probably made out of convenience, so they can make the hose and wand all as one piece...but it's really the best way they could go with it.

It's a small piece, and it could be scary popping it in and out of hands. This way, the wand can easily be put in place without any fussing and then a pose can be achieved where one can not even tell that the wand is rubbery at all. And both of my figures, once being taken out of the package and after holding their wands for a couple days, they remain rather straight and look fine hooked onto the proton packs.

Just looking at the wand the area that bends on mine and its the end of it. The handle seems ok and the center section but the end of it is definetly annoying the way it bends and i can't seem to make it straight(no sexual pun intended)

In terms of making it straight dunno what you could do i guess a small piece of metal rod under it might keep it straight or maybe glue like you suggested. Even some tape might help. Its a tricky one for sure.
