Wasn't aware of the 'backlash'.
Not forgetting the JSC Spidey repaint. They suddenly seem like a great deal
(Just noticed that is waitlisted).

Variants are pretty much a given with SS now.

Yeah, I don't know why people are so shocked by them. I mean, I guess there's the idea that some like Batman in a blue suit more than black, and there's no guarantee that they'll DEFINITELY do one (even though there kinda is...free money) so people grab the first available. Plus, a lot of collectors are impatient, so they won't want to wait and will just complain later.

Catwoman was kind of a surprise, but when it comes to Batman and stuff, it's pretty much a 100% guarantee he'll always be made in black and blue. I don't know if backlash is the right word...but people complained quite a bit. Either way, I think it's smart to just say, "A variant will be coming!" Lets people decide what they want and stops any angry surprises if a more prized version is on the horizon.

I'm so torn. With all the Hot Toys I buy I think I have to limit my PF statue purchases to just Hulk related items. If I buy this Spidey, then I'll want a Cap, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor ect...... Ah ok. You mentioned SS repeating characters. IM gets much love. I know what thread it is but was just making a point and agreeing with you. How about some new characters? Magneto will do just fine. I'll try to make my funnys more transparent next time my bad.

Well given that the varient for this will most like black costume, the only other CLASSIC, costume for Spidey I think it is worth mentioning.

Yeah, I'm sure in most cases they know what will have variants and have already begun work on them...whenever it's possible I think this'd be best. I'm not sure this will just be a simple repaint though. Originally I figured that'd be the case, but I'm pretty sure they're going to change up the base for the next one...at least in terms of what's happening below it, or maybe make it a billboard sign or something. Something that fits into the symbiote character over the classic Spidey character.

I think variants should just be expected now. Not always guaranteed, as I'm not sure those waiting for a yellow Daredevil is 100% certain; however, in cases where it can happen it seems like it will more often than not.

Mark I know you have been looking for a great Spidey... Well man this could EASILY be it, and at a price that isn't even close to the Com. This is a dynamic action sculpt by Martin Canale with a price, though higher than I would like, that is affordable for most. The Marvel ESs have all been fairly reasonable and other than the DC Trinity they have been all coming down. I will also say that you are assuming that XM will have a piece that rivals this. Now I am not saying they won't, but it is still an assumption given that this is a Canale sculpt, and your comment that "for a little more" doesnt make a lick of sense. By the time you have an XM Spidey imported you are looking at a price almost double this one, and unless you have a source already... Well good luck locking one down because all of the regular XM rivers are drying up slowly. That isn't a knock on XM either just a testament tithe insanity that comes with trying to get an XM piece if you aren't already established. Why not take a leap of faith m8. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Not me. I could have gotten XM Mags and I passed on that. I will 100% pass on an SSC Magneto unless it's like $350. See if it were still that baseline, I WOULD order more. See how that works?

I dont care about ES, I'm on this hobby because I love movies, comics and books, not because I need to know how much this is gonna cost 3 years from now. Spiderman is my favorite superhero and I have nothing to represent him yet. This will be perfect. Amazing pose. The end.
