Its a ******* statue!!!! A STATUE!!!!!
It amazes me that in 2007 a comic statue of a sexy girl doing laundry can create controversy

Vespagirl you are awesome!! Why can't all women think this way!?vespagirl said:Reading that live journal was like a refresher course on why I hate other women and rabidly hate feminists. They always manage to embarrass and offend me in one fell swoop. I guess I didn't get the memo because I never realized that being in the proximity of someone's laundry would be such a pivotal moment in my life and would turn me into a complete sap! This is art. It is one artist's interpretation of a comic strip. It's not a global narrative on the entire female population.
In the words of Mugatu - "I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!"
That is not only insane it is flat out retarded!!Darth Loki said:...The main complaint seems to be that MJ is doing Spidey's laundry. I'm just at a loss for words at how insane this is.
Not to mention they have hairy legs and armpits and don't wear deodorant!!vespagirl said:One rabid troller posted she cannot believe these stereotypes are still being perpetuated. Ironically, I have my own stereotype for these angry women - dumpy, raggedy women who have given up completely on their appearance and have nothing better to do than get annoyed because the fictional character statue looks better than they do.

Very well said Wetanut!! Bravo!!Wetanut said:This kerfluffle is pure BS -- tempest in a teacup. As a mature woman with mostly very liberal views of things (yes, I consider myself a feminist), I find nothing degrading or obscene regarding any aspect of the statue. The comments on the live blog seem to be made by those who are neither true collectors nor aficienados of the comic medium. I'm not gonna resort to using the quick, pigeonholing descriptors and "in" terms being bandied about (although it very tempting). Let is suffice to say that my understanding and belief of feminism is obviously very different from the bloggers'. I suspect these pseudo-feminists have decided to target this sculpture to vent on a much wider set of issues of a much more personal level. Too much self-righteousness going on over a sculpt of a fictional character to not suspect personal agendas. Sad.
Most of the comments are laughable and silly, but I cannot let the "...worst thing...ever seen" comment go by without a comment of my own. Wonder if this sculpt is on par with pictures of the dead and the walking dead at Auschwitz? Obviously the blogger has led a very sheltered and narrowly focused life and has no real perspective of what should be considered truly important in life. Silly twits. (done pontificating now...thank you for your time )

Preach on brotha Rory!!El Roranous said:My latest comment on Sideshow's site.
SS and Adam Hughes have made an exceptional product together. I hope the relationship continues and fully matures into even more great releases. The people that are offended by this are only furthering the success of this line by overreacting and overemphasizing it's existence. Don't you all realize that you have just promoted this statue and now even more people will want to own it even if it's just because it's controversial? Sideshow and Adam are loving the free publicity. Isn't it funny when things backfire? LOL
