Know what makes this more insane, is that Mary Jane Watson (Parker) is like THE most strong and independent female character in comics along with Lois Lane. I mean, she is THE ideal feminist right? Outgoing, independent, tells PETE what to do most of the time, she's also not afraid to flaunt her femininity knowing she can and still be viewed as more than a piece of meat. I know she's fictional, but that's how she's ALWAYS been written. I don't see anything submissive in the statue either to show her being put down by some male dominance. Women can't do laundry now, that's degrading? What, only guys can? Should they have put her in a power suit with a buzzcut? Whatever, some people LOOK for trouble like this, to them, get a life. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed, in my free time (little) I like reading and collecting toys, but these people have nothing BUT free time to find ignorant things to ***** about.

Let's go down to their offices and blast 2 Live Crew and Ted Nugent!

This thread seemed to have passed me by but the headline on the main page made me look.

Reading this...my jaw literally dropped. How sad are some people to complain about this. It is also a misinterpretation of the statue, it's not MJ scrubbing spideys stuff, it's her discovering it in the wash basket. And as for the issue of the ample buns & thong, instead of being offended look at it as a celebration of the female body & how beautiful it is

The very fact that women collector's love this statue negates any sexist issues you may have with this piece.

In closing, please refrain from using this piece, sideshow & the spiderman movie licence as a cheap way of gaining publicity for your campaign. In essence your leeching onto these to promote your beliefs like what Westboro Baptist Church do at soldiers funerals

Wow! Yesterday, when this news was beginning to break, I did an eBay search for "Sideshow Mary Jane" and there was probably a dozen available; some as low as $119, and most had several days to go before ending! Today, there is only one left listed, and it starts at $190!!! Either a bunch of people snagged one last night, or the sellers decided to pull them and see where the price goes!

I too am a female creator and feminist and I find all of this bull****...just that...bull****. There are much bigger fights out there in the world that actually WOULD make and impact on the plite of women in society..an outrage over a misrepresented statue is not one of them.

These people are insane! I responded on her journal site and was immediately asked how old I was..like that has anything to do with anything....but I answered and because my opinion differs from theirs I am: a) a liar (I can't possibly be 35)
b) a male - no way could a female find this piece unobjectionable

d) a dumb ass

And this is "feminism"....truly sad. They can't even provide a good agruement for their cause....they simply resort to name calling... that is all they seem to know how to do. It gives me a laugh.
