They had to lose somebody and the ones they lost are not THAT big of a deal (and were all expected to go anyway)... they have replacements... the Seahawks will be fine.

They lost the running back that carried them for multiple years.

They have no receivers aside from Baldwin and a Graham who never fit in the offense and is coming off of a major injury.

They lost the right side of that defense with Irvin and Mebane gone.

They lost two offensive linemen.

Actually, they lost six starers. Lynch, Kearse, Irvin, Mebane, Sweezy, and Okung. I'm not liking Seattle's chances of reaching a Super Bowl.

I never said they would make the SB this year I said they would be fine. They have lost and recovered before.... But I guess we'll see. That's why they play the games.

You are happy the Seahawks lost four starters.... which they won't even have the cap space to replace because Lynch is still on the books?
:slap
Yes he is there now but they can wait until after June 1 to cut him and he only count 2.5M each year of the net two years or cut him earlier and he count 5 on this year either way they will get back at least 6M in cap room.

And once again you miss the entire point.... no surprise.

He is counting against the cap now.... using up space they need to sign more FAs..... by the time they cut him in June... majority of the FAs will be signed leaving Seattle with bottom tiered FAs.......

Lynch is not willing to officially retire to either screw over the Seahawks or be cut so he can come back to another team later.

Good thing Seattle isn't big on signing a lot of FA or they would be in real trouble.

Good thing Seattle lost six starters and actually need that money to sign players.

And how is that any different than what the Patriots do most years?

What does that have anything to do with the discussion at hand of Seattle needing that money and being screwed by Lynch?

It works for the Pats because they are the best team in the NFL for scouting and signing talent that other teams pass up. Every year after they lost to Manning in the AFC title game they have rebooted, signed some big names, and went to the Super Bowl.

'06 loss - signs Moss and Welker. Goes on to be 18-1 and one of the greatest offenses in history.

'13 loss - signs Revis and Browner. Goes on to defeat one of the greatest defenses in history and win the Super Bowl.

'16 loss - ??? I think Pats trade for a big name and go on to win the Super Bowl.

If they need the money today they can cut him today and save 6M today. They have money now they can spend if they HAVE to. Every team wait until June 1 to cut players if they feel it a enough of a saving to do so. So its not me missing the point if you not understanding the process, oh wait what I was thinking you know it all and you must be right and are smarter than those paid millions to run franchises.

Can I ask you a question? Why does every post you make come off as you trying to start an argument? I don't know if that's what you mean to do or it just comes across in your posts but its kind of strange. I know people pick on you about the Patriots but why do you let it bother you so much? You know they will not change their mind so why keep trying? Why not just enjoy your team and who give a rats butt what anyone else thinks. Why do you feel the need to be confrontational in every post? You seem like a good guy and you know your stuff but having a better attitude might make things funner here. Just a thought.

You described yourself perfectly.

I apologize to you Darth Madden. I have been an *** to you. You have been one of the few who have treated me fairly on this board. I even like your sig with all the Mythos statues! :lol My tone in posts to mfoga have rubbed off to my replies to you and others. I apologize. I will try to have a better attitude, I hope others will do the same from here on out.

I sure hope everyone else does as well. Everyone needs to remember that we are all here because we want to talk / discuss football and all the personal attacks and constant jabs just kill the spirit. Its football guys... its supposed to be FUN. :)

Few points of discussion....

-Chase Daniel has a huuuuge contract for a backup and a lot of incentives for even more money. Anyone think Bradford might be traded? I just don't understand why the Eagles paid Chase that much....

-Kearse stays in Seattle..... WR core is back on track for them.

-Denver has talked to Fitzpatrick, but their target is Kap. 49ers, Rams, Jets, Browns, Broncos all need a QB. With only Fitz, RGIII, Kap as realistic options as a starting QB.... a few teams will be without a QB.

-While driving today I heard on NFL radio that the 49ers could trade Kap for Manziel and a high draft pick.... Chip really shouldn't be a head coach and the 49ers should be sold if that happens.

And there were rarely any personal attacks / constant jabs on this thread since I started posting back in 2009; in fact, I can't remember one. Everyone was entitled to their opinion, and every one debated and argued their position reasonably and rationally. A far cry from the NBA thread, which I referenced in a prior post.

Grenouille has been the OG Patriots fan on this thread, and no one here has ever taken a shot at him for being a Patriots fan. He brings insightful analysis, and during the Patriots losses in the Super Bowl, has gone out of the way to congratulate the opponents (New York Giants on both occasions). EDIT: Had to leave for a quick meeting, but I wanted to clarify that I pointed out Grenouille as an example that no one gets attacked / jabbed for the team they support. It's how they carry themselves.

That's my $.02 on that.

In other football news, Sources say that Kaepernick "wants" to play in Cleveland. Really?

And Cincy has lost both complementary receivers, Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones, to Atlanta and Detroit respectively. AJ Green is a stud, and they still have Tyler Eifert, but this could hurt them as well.
