That was most of my point though. I'm not going on seasons past I'm talking about this year and actually he was pretty damn good last year considering the injuries we had. He did his job last game and has done a pretty good job this season. He kept them in the game. Some of the comments I read on here makes it seem like someone could shoot a beach ball past him 9 out of 10 times.

Like I said he isn't perfect, but he's been earning his dough this season in my opinion. Martin on the other hand....

Prax, everything you say is true. He keeps us in games we have no business winning like the 5-4 comeback from behind win against the Leafs a week ago, and there are other many games I can come up with. You watch those games, you know he has been good. These guys expect perfection. You won't even find that with Lundqvist or Brodeur in his prime. And yes, I agree, Martin has been abysmal on our team. I am okay with him and Kennedy not returning. Heck, even Kunitz. I'll explain why later.

What's the difference between letting in a bad goal and fanning or missing an open net? I don't think I've ever seen a game where a forward didn't blow it somewhere yet they don't get hammered the same way. Goalies are often held to an unfair different standard. They're often solely blamed for losses. Incidentally, they've often solely credited for wins, which can also be seen as inaccurate.

I wouldn't have minded Colorado vs Detroit....hell it's cold enough in Minnesota so Wild vs Stars as a kind of throwback game for the long time fans up there

What reasoning do you have for not wanting canadian teams in the classic? I think the leafs, canucks, habs (only because of their history and fanbase) would make for great games depending on the opponent. I think any of the original 6 should be in classics without question.

Politics are politics, but the NHL will primarily use teams that have a strong fan base or an extremely popular team. So, the likes of the wild ect will probably not have one until they have a better more exciting team to take the ice.

I'm not a Leaf's fan. I don't need to be to recognize that they don't suck.
