Nah, they beat Rags in 7 a few years ago, beat the B's in 7 on Ward's OT goal under Hunter and beat the Isles in 7 this year in the last series.

Sadly though, if they lose tomorrow they will have 5 series that they've led 3-1 and lost 4-3. 5 in 40 years. The next closest team has 2.

Yes, but have the Caps ever beaten the Pittsburgh Penguins being up 2 games in a series before? ;)

And with the Habs out, so does my interest of who to follow. In a way I kind of want the Caps to win it all. Sorry Kit, it's not because of you. It's because the city deserves a Cup win and I actually don't mind the team. Philadelphia is the team I loathe. Also, not much of a Rangers fan. Sorry Yankee. :p

Washington

Hawks
Ducks

In that order. Then again, the Blackhawks and Ducks are interchangeable in terms of who can win. I was in Anaheim for Game 1 Round 1 and I have to say the fans were quite impressive out there. They were also very warm and welcoming to this Winnipeg guy and for that, I wouldn't mind seeing them rewarded with a Cup as well.

That being said, I still feel more intrigued by a Caps win. I guess it's more-so because Washington has a mediocre playoff history (with the exception of a couple years), and there is always something really cool about a team winning its first ever Cup.

:goodpost: Glad I was wrong about TB. They played their best game of the series tonight.

Habs beat themselves by not showing up. Couldn't make a pass to save their lives, no intensity, no heart, no threat...good on them...and I'm a Habs fan. Why should I care when they didn't.

I wouldn't say they didn't care, they simply did not have the offensive talent needed to move on

Wow, what a great game 7. I know Caps fans are frustrated by yet another blown 3-1 series lead but the Caps truly played hard and gave a tremendous effort. Both teams did. It reminded me a little of the WCF last year between the Hawks and Kings. The goaltending was incredible tonight and both teams gave everything they had. Unfortunately, someone just has to lose. All 7 games in this series were decided by one goal. No team needs to hang their heads when that happens.

They started playing after TB made it 2-0 and then slacked off again after that. They were just flat. In other games they outplayed TB but still lost, so it was obvious they could if they wanted to, but didn't give it their all in that game.

I'm still in disbelief after watching that game 7, absolutely incredible hockey & both teams played their guts out. After Ovie's goal I thought Wash would steamroll Ny, and they almost did with long stretches of 5-on-5 in our zone that felt like a 10-on-5. Thank god for Henrik. This was my reaction when Stephan put the OT rebound in:

Ovechkin was incredible every shift and classy after the game both in the hand shake line and post game interview. Always was a fan of his and I hope he gets a Cup one day. It's a shame fans will put the loss on him but he did everything he could do imo. Holtby was incredible as well. Great series Caps fans.

Crappy series, crappy outcome.

I say crappy series, because Caps fans have now lived the blown 3-1 series lead FIVE times. We've seen this movie and everyone keeps dying in the end. There is no enjoyment watching this team in the plauoffs because we're always sitting there waiting for the inevitable collapse. We know it's coming in either the 1st or 2nd round every time. Ovechkin may win a cup, but it won't be in Washington. This team is cursed and will never win. Period.

Send out the search party for Rick Nash, if they want to advance they need him to show up

Nash has done everything but hit the back of the net. No excuse, he needs to start putting up goals. Can't expect Krieder, Brassard & Stephan shoulder the goal output burden.

St Louis looks totally lost out there. V had him down on the 3rd line for awhile which seemed to open the ice up for him but putting him on the PP last night was a poor decision, as he fumbled the puck which resulted in the 3 on 5 short handed goal. He's whiffed on pucks staring at an empty net and just looks nervous out there.

Don Sweeney gets the Bruins GM job. I'm a bit skeptical, but hope it works out. I don't understand the point of firing a guy only to replace him with his right hand man.
