^^^^ING YEAH! HUDLER PENALTY WAS A GOOD CALL! SEE THAT HIGH STICK ON SCUDERI? CLEARLY EVIDENT! But the goalie interference penalties are jokes. You can thank the ass clown Sean Avery for that! Oh all those guys who laughed at his antics against Brodeur are crying now! Especially if you're a Wings fan! Hey, the Pens had a goalie interference called against them as well. It happens.

Don't be silly. That was a hard fought out game. The refs have been calling goalie interference both ways. It's weak calls on both sides, to Osgood and Fleury who were both hardly tampered with. That ridiculous new goalie interference rule comes courtesy of the waste of space, Sean Avery.
That last penalty against Hudler on Scuderi is clearly legit. You could see it, and if you deny that you're clearly blind. I could do without the ridiculous goalie interference calls, but again, some ^^^^^ head that had a go at it with Elisha Cuthbert (WHY?! GAWD WHY?!) made it come to fruition.
And I am saying this with the idea that the Wings should have had 5 goals in Game 1, but had one called back due to Holmstrom just grazing Fleury. I want my teams to win and lose fairly. Get rid of the new rule, or police it better. This is taking it too far. Again, the Hudler penalty was legitimate, and that is the PP where the Pens connected. The others, the Pens couldn't get anything together, so despite being handed gifts from lame penalties, nothing came from them. This game was won by the Pens fair and square. Not by the officiating.

I do understand though the NHL is pushing for a Penguins Cup win, which I don't like.
But this game was won due to great goaltending, and some clutch goals by Talbot and Sykora.

lost $100 last night but still poised to win $500 with a detroit series win. did originally predict detroit in 6. just like dallas did after winning game 5 in detroit, they went back home overconfident and the series was over....hopefully!

I already knew you would not agree because you're a Pens fan. I am not saying it was not a high stick, but the Pens got away with SO many hooks and hold in all 3 OT periods it wasn't even funny. The Wings got away with SOME too, but not as many as the Pens.
The first goalie interference call on Zetterburger was weak, but cleary's was legit. Pierre was whining where's he suppose to go? He could have tried to stop or go around the net. He chose to drive the net and made distinct contact with the goalie.
I forget who said it earlier, but these rules are in play due to the Avery's of the world. Like it or not a rule is a rule and its there to protect the goalies. At least these penalty calls were made after actual contact and not flopping like Osgood did in game 2. Of course everyone forgets that....
How about Malone!! I could not imagine taking a slapshot to the face and coming back as soon as the period started. He definitely earned my respect last night and I really hope he stays in Pitt. Kudo's to Gonchar as well for attempting to comeback even if it was just for a bit.
I like the pens chances in game 6. Game 7 will have to be another game stealer from MAF.

I said that Avery was to thank for the goalie interference call. I love Brodeur (fav all-time goalie), and was pissed off that he was such a picker head to him, especially calling him a fatso after the series had ended. How immature, but his childish antics have led to some goals being disallowed. One that I think should have stood in Game 1 for Detroit. My buddy laughed his ass off when Avery did that to Marty, well now he can cry, because that new rule has helped my Pens who he dislikes so much.
btw Kit, my buddy is pro Ovechkin and Caps so you two would get along great!
Yes, Ryan Malone is a stud! Breaks his nose and takes another beating to the face but continues to play. Gonchar came back as well. I love how committed this team is to winning. Even Letang, put his priorities straight, and took himself out of a Stanley Cup Final that every kid growing up with hockey dreams of participating in so he could say goodbye one last time to his best friend, Luc Bourdon. Granted, he was also benched for poor play. But we all know he would have played with the lack of defensive bodies we iced in Game 5. I can't believe the Pens staved off elimination, and stole the show, with 5 defenseman for a good portion of the game. Which many of us seem to forget. Probably another reason we got dominated in those OTs.
