Not if they can't afford to keep them! :monkey3

They'll find a way. After all the NHL bends over for the Penguins. They are the single handedly the biggest cash cow for the NHL as of now. The entire league has marketed itself around that team. :)

The power of Mario Lemiiiiiieeeeeeeuuuuuuxxxxxxxxxxx!

btw Did I get all giddy with joy seeing Lemieux and Yzerman drop the puck in Game 1. Oh yeah! That was the stuff that dreams are made of. I don't care who tries to manipulate this post. Seeing two of my top three all-time favorite players on the ice together.... a thing of beauty! :)

That was pretty cool seeing The Captain and Super Mario together for the puck drop! :chew Oh and on keeping the team together, Malkin's got dollar signs in his eyes already! He wants to be the main man, not second fiddle to Sid!

Can you blame him? As of right now he was the best player in 2008 and is didn't make anywhere near what Sid the Kid or Ovech made. He's also 21, so of course he sees $$$ and the way he has played he deserves it.

What makes us any different from him if we were in his situation? I think we would all follow suit being in his position.

I don't know after this series I think Malkins and Malones salaries have become much more affordable.

PITTSBURGH WINS!!! PITTSBURGH WINS!!! PITTSBURGH WINS!!!

IT'S A SERIES AGAIN!!! WHAT A GAME!!! BROOKS ORPIK AND SIDNEY CROSBY WERE MONSTERS IN THAT GAME! AND OF COURSE YOU GOT TO HAND IT TO MARC-ANDRE FLEURY!!!

I can breathe a sigh of relief. This series may not be a Detroit Red Wings blow out after all. :)

Yep and the Flyers won one game too. You know damn well they are not coming back. :lecture

Difference is Pittsburgh is much better than Philadelphia. Pittsburgh won a game in Game 3. Not Game 4. It's easier coming back being 2 games down vs. 3. This Penguins team is much better than what you give them credit for.

Lastly, I never suggested they would come back. Even in this game, the Wings spent most of the time in the Penguins zone. Either way, a Cup win for the city of Pittsburgh is inevitable, whether it is this season or the ones that follow it. The end result is another Championship for the Penguins is GOING TO HAPPEN. Nuff' said!

Sure it will! Keep telling yourself that. :lol

Eat crow!

Seriously, it will happen. :)

Don't get too cocky, or you may have to eat your own words. I'll make it so that this line, "Sure it will! Keep telling yourself that." will be the line you have to consume, and it will me made of cemet and bits of glass, and shrapnel for good measure.

i did say detroit in 6. :D game 4 will tell the story. if detroit wins, they will win the cup in 5.

Let me guess....the Pens won a game so the series isn't boring anymore?:rotfl

Ugh... please don't use the rolling eyes smiley icon. It's so tired and over used. Anyway, I like a close series. I like close games that are exciting end to end, that are close, and tight. Those are what I would like to call nail biter games. Not one that is clearly being dominated by one of the two teams. Anyway, here is a post from a hockey forum I copy and pasted...

That was an awesome long shift by Brooks Orpik. He got the fans so riled. Orpik was hitting everything in sight that sported red and white threads, much like a raging bull seeing nothing but a matador waving a red cape. If he played every game like that, he would easily become my favorite NHLer. That speaks volumes since I am all for the big flashy scoring studs. Mmmmmm... Lots of goals and assists.. fancy plays with the stick... Errr, wait, that sounds kind of... Look! I am a young heterosexual male who finds the opposite sex very attractive! Don't judge me! Seriously though, Mr. Orpik was by far the most entertaining player of the game. Atleast in the third period.

Moving along... I loved Sid the kid's devotion to get his team back into this series by scoring his team's first two goals. No. 87 is giving us every reason to question the haters out there. Are people really that fickle that they will allow their jealousy (which is absurd to begin with) to hate such a talented young individual, who is so mature beyond his years... The very notion of the Penguins making him a captain at such a young age doesn't seem so preposterous now, does it? Quick answer: HELLZ NOS! It makes absolutely no sense to dislike him. Especially with his will to win, which is unmatched by any other individual in the league IMO. Sorry, got on a bit of a tangent there.

Lest we forget the Cirque du Soleil acrobatic stylings of one Marc-Andre Fleury, who kept us from losing that nail biter of a game. We were totally beaten by Detroit in Period 3. I don't think we even spent 3 minutes of that 20 minute period in their end. 16-5 were the shots in favour of Detroit. Eeep! Even when the flying impaired birds win, the team from the Motor City still looked better as a whole. That's not good.

Yes, it continues, but I promise it will end soon! The bright side (other than the fact the Pens won) is that Marian Hossa had a few scoring chances stolen from him. Case in point, the nice backhand that beat the Olympic Diving Champion Chris Osgood, but fortunately for him, (and unfortunately for my Pens) his bestfriend bailed him out on numerous occasions.

That was definitely an edge-of-your-seat nail biter of a game. Now really thinking about it, despite being down just a game, I still feel uneasy. Even when we win, we barely win and still were outplayed, where as Games 1 and 2 were clearly dominated by the Red and White Machine. Hopefully the Pittsburgh Penguins can dominate the Detroit Red Wings in Game 4 on Saturday.

Had the Pens lost 3-2 and the series was 3-0 I doubt you would be all that excited :lol

I'll answer that with a resounding, "DUH!"

Stop stating the obvious! I'll be happy whichever team wins as long as it's a series. This is the Stanley Cup Final. Not the preseason, regular season, or even an opening playoff round. This is the first time my two favorite teams have been in the Final together, and quite possible this could be a one time deal. Why would I be happy with a one sided series? That's no fun. So yes, I am excited that the Penguins are back in the series. Do I understand that the Wings have been the better team in this series so far? YES! Even in Game 3 which they lost, they looked much better at times than the Pens. Do I like the Pens chances? NO! But I want a series! Six or seven games thank you. Also, you can't tell me that game wasn't entertaining. :)

i've seen alot of games this year. i wish forecasting if a collectible is going to go up in value was as easy as picking the winner this year. detroit. :huh

*picks his nose and then makes tylerd eat it*

Anyone could see this is the year of Detroit. Either way, my Pens will have their due, and the series isn't over until it is over. Which could be 2 games from now or 4 games from now.

it's all academic eli. you'll have a hard time finding anything fun out of detroit's dominance this year. unless you're a detroit fan.
