This is key. I went from 180 to 170 in just over a week just by doing this and this alone.

Yeah I suspect that is most of my problem. I still want to continue to run just for the added health benefits. I am sure I could lose most of my weight just quiting the weekday beverages. This makes me feel like I am doing something about it.
 
If you want to lose excess fat, don't just run. If you just run and run and run, which I used to do (I used to run at least 5 miles a day) your body will get used to the distance and burn less and less excell calories for the same distance. The key is interval training, or Sprinting for 1 minute, fast jog for 2 minutes, sprinting for 1 minute, fast jog for 2 minutes (then spice it up like 1.5 minutes, etc). This way, your body doesn't get used to it and burns more fat. ALso, rowing machines are great, use one if you can

Just a suggestion. I've been doing this for a couple of months now along with lifting; now I'm about 5'11" 175 with 4% body fat

Yeah I cut all my weekday beer at starting last night. I can tell it was starting to be a habit because I couldn't fall assleep last night.

Anyways hell yeah post your stats. That goes for anyone else. I guess post all of the information that you can. How far and how long. Any other information is cool too.

Beer is definitely not your only enemy. Soda is the devil as well. Watch it with that stuff. I just quit. Feels good.

I haven't drank sodas on a regular basis for 5 years. I have them once in a while, but I used to drink a couple a day. They are the ****ing devil.:lol

Yeah, it's amazing how much sugar is in soda. When you take a 2 liter of soda, and measure out in a separate measuring cup the amount of sugar in that 2 liter, then put them side by side, it's nuts.
 
I switched to coke zero. I still love the flavor and it has zero carbs and zero sugar. That means it probably causes cancer. :lol
 
Very nuts! You quit soda, you lose weight. Pure and simple equation. Nobody needs that much sugar.

You get used to not having it too. It comes to a point that it burns when you drink it later. :lol

I don't know much about these things but with everything that sounds too good to be true there is a trade off. Soda is soda unfortunately so I am sure Coke Zero will mess you up in one way or another soon enough. :monkey2

The worst is Sunkist. 52 grams of sugar in a 12oz. can. God I love that stuff too. I can't remember the last time I drank one though.:lol

Apparently the only thing I have found bad so far is that it makes you want to eat. I don't have that sensation after I drink it. So it must cause cancer. Who knows, it may have censors in it that alert Tom Cruises people. They come down from the planet Zulu and attack my Theon at night. :rotfl

I know I said this before but it can't be said to many times.

Eat Breakfast. If you don't your metabolism will slow down to start the day and its hard to get it going again so when you eat lunch you will burn less of those of calories naturally. If you can eat a light breakfast a low calorie snack then eat a light lunch, then a low calorie snack then dinner. Also try not to eat to close to going to sleep, your metabolism will slow down while you sleep.

If you can spread the same amount of calories a day across eating 4-5 times a day vs 2-3 times a day you will begin to speed up your metabolism and that will help in losing weight, because you burn into your fat much faster.
 
Coke Zero and any Diet Soda contains more Sodium than regular soda. So when you drink it, it can dry you up and make you either hungry or thirsty
 
I used to drink a lot of soda, but now I just don't have any. I might have one every other week or so, but that is it. And I usually have 1 beer a day, 2 on gameday. But that's it. I find that if I eliminate beer altogether I will just snap and overdrink socially. :lol

I don't jog, but my iPod seems to have gone tits up. I have to take it over to Best Buy today since I have service agreement.
