Back in '91 when I backpacked through Europe I had several different Americans on multiple occassions offer to buy the jacket that I was wearing (it had the good ol' Maple Leaf on it) as they were having some "difficulties".
When Europeans would hear my accent they automatically assumed that I was from the US-- when they foudn out where I was actually from I was offered lifts, places to stay, folks would buy me a drink or a meal-- Good times.
It's going to be interesting what happens-- the PM is meeting with the GG today at 9:30am (only Canucks'll get those abbreviations and that's cool
) and we'll have to wait and see if the vote happens in the House on Monday.
(Sidenote-- Joking aside, Canada does have an army and in fact a large portion of it is in Afghanistan and has been there since they helped to liberate the people there from the Taliban rule. Canadian soldiers are protecting not only Afghanistans but also American forces. Canadian soldiers are coming home in coffins drapped with the Canadian flag. Bob and Doug MacKenzie are OK to be noted as they epitomize the types of "hosers" we are-- hell, throw Celine up there--although thankfully she's more Vegas' problem now
-- But when it comes to the Canadian military, show a little respect please. Cheers.
