Why is it that most people that are religious are so quick to condemn those that are not of their same faith?

Aren't religions supposed to teach people acceptance, tolerance, and love? Why do so many turn their backs on those who "can't be saved"?

No religion for me please. It's just a big messy bowl of hypocrisy no matter what.

Yeah, but that is "assuming" that it would be an issue with God. Personally, I think it's something that people can decide to do if they choose to go that route... especially in a rape situation or something dire.

We can all stipulate what would anger the creator and what would condemn us to an afterlife of retribution... But nobody knows. All religions have found good points, but no faith is 100% correct... because we don't know, and cannot know the real truth.

We'll talk more about this in the afterlife... Don't worry... we'll have time. :D

I can really respect people with such an opinion:D. I don't mind people believing in god as long as they don't fuse this with ancient violent tribalistic books.

That's why I said "indicates he isn't Christian" instead of "proves he isn't." If you want to support abortion the Bible doesn't say you won't go to heaven. You just might to have a little "talk" about right and wrong when you get there. ;) :naughty

And I'm sure Obama considers himself "loosely Christian"...when he's giving a speech in front of them, that is. :duh

No one "supports" abortion. What people want to do with their bodies is their business and their choice. They will bear the burden of any repercussions in this life or the next, not me.

You are so right... I think that many people will be in for a surprise when they die and find that they totally missed the message. :horror

Well spoken... I agree wholeheartedly.

I subscribe to the notion that humans aren't really as important as they think they really are. Who says you are going anywhere when you die? You biologically stop working, you die, then you rot.

It's funny that we can't come to terms with our mortality. We think we are so important that this spirit, our soul is going to float up or sink down, or pass on to another life. That's like believing in paranormal activity...

The human mind cannot fathom the infinite or the fact that we could just simply not exist after death. The idea of a soul is, at the very least, comforting.

That's probably the cold hard truth. Although there have been some cases of near death experiences that cannot be explained in any scientific way.

I know what you mean... Thoughts like that sometimes keep me up at night, close to panic attack...

But having seen ghosts, I can say that there is something. And having been saved when I was a child, I know I felt something powerful... Just can't say what.

I believe that no structure is needed, just be a good person... I take aspects from various religions and make them my own. It's all good in my own personal religion. And we don't kill people. :lol

Looking forward hearing the ghost stories. Always interesting.

It is a scary thought to think that once you die it's the end. The thing that always gets me about a religion like Christianity is that they say animals have no souls or spirits and will not get a chance to go to heaven or hell. Why is this so? If you look at a pet they have the same exact emotions as you. They are just as alive as a person. Why are they rejected and treated like trash by the Christian religion?

That is one of the deciding factors to me that Christianity is false and just a bunch of made up rules in a book written by some old chump.

Why would God play games? To amuse himself? That sounds terrible. Why would God teach us lessons that cause us harm and humiliation? Some Christians will say because that is exactly what we needed to learn but I say why would a God as they describe be so spiteful and vengeful when he is supposed to be perfect and loving.

God made cancer. God made war. Yet we should worship him.

Mormons believe animals have souls... but then again we aren't considered Christian. So waddayado? :dunno

Like John Lennon said, nothing is real. That includes all of the pain and such we experience. That really is the ultimate irony in life; that the material is the illusion and the spiritual holds the real substance. In the eternal scheme of things its how we act/react that counts.

No where are my damn classic Daleks. :cuss

This just proves you are insane Josh. It's ok, you still are a good painter, thus ok in my book.:D

I know Catholics have a blessing of the animals like once a year.(At least at the church I used to attend.) Of course, that could just be because they want to give all the help they can to the poor soulless creatures.:lol
