Great pics, Josh. Glad a freak won something this cool from SS.

Absolutely sweet pics, Josh! Congratulations on your SDCC prize! :clap :duff :clap

Great photos, Josh! Still wish I'd won that instead of you. :nana:

Great photo's Josh, best I've seen yet.:wink1:

Thanks guys! It was actually nice outside today so I went out a little before noon and started taking shots. Its always tricky for me picking the right time of day. I'm pretty happy with them.

Waller I'll think of you everytime I look at it. :nana:

AWESOME photos Josh... the best so far; one can really appreciate all the finer details with these shots (particularly in the daylight). :clap:clap:clap

Picking mine up later today :)

If more collectors took pictures in the daylight I'm positive there would be less heart failures going around :lol

Thank you! :hi5: I'm truly glad you all are liking them.

Its something I learned by chance. However, its touch and go to be honest doing so. Sometimes the light doesn't work because its too much or not enough. I try to pick days where the sun is out and try various times of day. Being outside can also sometimes make shots look a little more washed out. One thing I've noticed is sometimes I like how the shot looks after messing with it in my photo program but photobucket makes it look a bit washed out (when it isn't like that).

I walked away empty handed, but definitely have some great memories of my first SDCC. I just pray I'll be able to get tickets again in the future :monkey2

It was a blast to meet you. Hopefully we can get a chance to BS again at comic-con. :rock

Mine just shipped today and I should receive it by tomorrow. Expect a review in the next couple of days on my website.

I've found my best photo's are when it's bright but the direct sun is not hitting the spot where I want to take shots. So in my back garden but still under my sun roof.

Basically you want all of the light with none of the shadows. At least that's what I found works best for me :)

I got mine in yesterday and opened it tonight. I pulled out the base to set it up and my base is warped. It wobbles quite a bit. I'm afraid to set it up for fear it might tip over. I'm going to have to contact SSC about this. What a buzz kill! :monkey2

Josh great pics. This is probably the best statue SSC has put out. I'm happy you won this, it couldn't have gone to a better freak. Congrats buddy!

That's what I shoot for most of the time. Once leaves start growing on the trees I can go outside later in the day because they grow thick enough where I take photos. So the sun can add its full brightness but doesn't create too many shadows. Otherwise, I have to go a bit earlier in the day where the house blocks it.

Yeah, its a heavy statue so it could cause a problem. Its worth a call.

Thanks!! As said earlier I'm glad you all enjoy the pics. Its one of my favorite parts of collecting is sharing my shots. I try to take good quality photos for you all. Thanks again. :rock I'm as stunned now as I was then because it is one of the best statues I think SS has done. Well, I love being a freak here. :hi5:

Going to requote these because my friend Terry knows how to take a good photo. I've picked his brain a bit at comic-con on how to get better. These are the type of quality I shoot for.

I have to admit, SS really has a runaway hit with this statue. Like a lot of collectors here, I was reluctant they could pull off both headsculpts as well as the prototype and get all the detail into the statue.

Other than the lightsaber hilt (which is being corrected with the help of myc), I am glad to say I stand corrected. Both portraits are superb and the level of detail in Kenobi and all his gear is jaw-droppingly fantastic.

I have high hopes for Fett and Vader!

Just received an email from the customer service manager apologizing about the wrong ES! While I like the gesture, I wish it was for the REALLY issue for this statue, which is the missing hilt!!

Josh, your pics are amazing. I can't believe the details that went into this. Sideshow did an incredible job.

Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words everyone. They do honestly put a smile on my face. :duff

Sideshow so nailed this statue. It's really off the charts the detail in it and trying to explain it when I saw it at the freaks party in 2011 was hard to do. Now everyone gets to see just how cool this statue is. It's IMO the perfect Obi-Wan collectible.
