I saw no one saying anything of the sort...

...bye bye, please leave the thread or better yet, leave the forum. :cuckoo:
While what you guys are saying about the prices and being able to afford them or not is totally reasonable, it doesn't need to be a contest about the absolute rudest and most douchebaggy way to say it. It's kind of embarrassing how you're all revelling in running someone down, honestly.

I'm going to repeat what B said. This 1/5 scale maquette is more expensive than a 1/4 Scaar PF which is huge. And people are still defending the price tag. It is also more expensive than most if not all individual Star Wars PFs.

Great sculpt by Trevor BTW. It's certainly a great looking piece. Bravo Trevor.

Cos some of those people aren't even getting it.

It does seem strange that it's the cost of a PF which is way bigger in size. Even with the backpack that is quite a huge jump.

It's not a small statue though and as big it looked like as some pf's. This isn't cheap but having seen it in person I think it's worth it.

No one is putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to buy this statue.

If you don't like the price then there's a simply solution...don't buy it.

Nobody is being run down. :peace

In fairness no one has said SS are putting a gun to ones head and forcing people to buy it. They are questioning the inflation of prices which is substantial over a short period of time and also the price difference when compared to 1/4 scale PFs.

It is quite obvious to everyone if your not happy with the price that you won't buy. What does not appear to be obvious to some is the right to voice ones concerns about hyperinflation without being told the standard "no one is putting a gun to your head...duh".

Hell that's just bickering among family members. If that's being run down I've had that several times in 9 years. :lol

Your probably right :rotfl But in fairness not everyone has English as their first language and spell nazi's don't help.

Complaining that others are complaining doesn't put you on the pedestal you perceive yourself to be on.....it brings you right down to the huddled masses you seem to detest so much.

That's horse____.

The people whining are accusing the company of being unjust. Calling them out for being histrionic is not whining.

Further, no one would be telling them what they thought of their whining if they didn't whine. "I know you are but what am I," is an argument from a child too dim to understand why they're being rejected. Some of us learned that in kindergarten.

oh boy where this is going just because someone like me think the 40% price increase for the second statue of a new line isn't justified..instead of throwing money in SSC throat without thinking..

just wow..

But you can't compare this statue with the Darth Maul. Maul has like 4 colors on his head and the rest is black. Look at all of the details in Obi's clothes, his backpack, 2 heads, 2 hands. This statue is super complex. Is it worth $350? I don't know. But it is definitely worth more than Maul.

Just to chime in, "don't like it, don't buy it" is grossly in-accurate.

People DO like it but either can't buy it, or can't justify buying it. It's not that they don't like it.

You're equivocating.

If people do not like the price, then they should not submit to the terms being offered.

Exactly. There was no price increase.

Speak for yourself.

You assumed that the price would be the same, or close to the same. You never considered the factors which may have led a person who thought it out to conclude that Obi-wan would be significantly more expensive. You just jumped to the conclusion that Sideshow was gouging, which if you stop and think about it, isn't even a valid concept.

"dont like it" was pertaining to the PRICE not the piece itself. duhhh

and none of you whiners know for sure why they are charging more for this obi statue. for all you know, it could be a very fair price given the R&D, licensing fees, and production work needed to produce this statue. by you saying that Sideshow is just criminally charging more because they feel like it is ignorant.
