I don't care about all the complaints to be honest. I understand were most collector's are coming from but this is a friendly place to voice ones opinion. To get all worked up over another's opinion is pointless and unproductive. It would be wise to not be swayed by the opinion of another. I'll make my own opinion when I get this in hand, hopefully soon. Oh this isn't directed at any one person.

Thanks for all the pics guys this thing is looking fabulous.

I thought we were past all this. :monkey2

SS dropped the ball in the communication department. They chose to omit something and didn't inform us. Simple as that. What's done is done. A number of us have banded together and will get the hilt we wanted. I think that is pretty cool. Instead of all us complaining (myself included), we instead found a solution and went down that road.

Well maybe the lean would be fixed with little sanding on his foot pedestal. But that might also cause falling problems. I wish they were clear about this so we could organize our fixing methods.

Well said, Slynger. :lecture :exactly: :goodpost:

There is no lean to fix. He's walking against a sandstorm. Look at his cape...that sh@ts going crazy. He's great.

IMO

I think too many people are way too **** about their statues. A missing hilt, a slight lean, a slight chip.. Nothing is perfect! SideShow does pretty damn fine work, they make high end statues better than anyone else on earth and we should be thankful they do. If you get a little chip, live with it. A missing hilt should not make people hate SideShow, say they are going way down hill, and think it ruins a ******* gorgeous statue.

I am a perfectionist. The little things people are bringing up would bother me the same as them when I was between the ages of, idk, 5-15. But I'm 31 years old. I get a little oil stain on a brand new beautiful shirt I don't throw the shirt away. I live with it and think it's nothing and most people probably won't even notice it.

You gotta live with imperfections and appreciate the beauty that is already there. Just my opinion.

Dont compare your $20 shirt to a $350 statue....I suppose you would not complain buying a new car that came with a big scratch on it...these are legit complaints here and if someone has a 100% legit gripe it's ok...period...even on a Pro Sideshow forum...wrong is wrong, bad business is bad business in this case...oh and your not a perfectionist is your willing to buy something and say it's ok after seeing a defect or missing piece...no way....so you would buy an oil stained shirt?

True 100%...but all in all this should have never taken place...you have to now pay out of pocket for Sideshow's mistake...Sideshow is very happy with the guys who kept this piece....imagine is everyone returned it for a refund.....but some folks dont mind or worse ...even get upset when someone is making a complaint about it no matter how legit the complaint is

Overall thoughts on the piece:

I've been looking forward to this piece for a long time. To be honest, when I first saw preview art years ago I never thought it was meant to be this huge and dramatic.

That's probably my biggest take away. The piece is incredibly dramatic and in terms of detail I can't think of another polystone sideshow statue that comes close.

So many parts that could break... mine arrived in perfect condition but I will admit there were many breathless moments putting it together.

All the clear passion and love put into this makes the missing hilt all the more strange. Maybe we'll know what happened one day but for now I still love this Ben Kenobi.

It took guts to make it this large and complex and not based on any of the films but I'm really glad they did. Hope the line continue for a long time.

Wow. It seems like it is pretty much impossible to take a bad picture of this piece. I think I agree that taking off the saber blade does make it display better. Thanks to all you willing to share pics. Looks great.

Man I'd so buy this if it weren't so damn expensive.

Can't justify it in my head for some reason. I think I'm getting old...
