for me i think i'm dissapointed because of the pics they put out that look incredible and the real thing is far below that. if they posted something closer to how it is really going to look like i would accept it. i consider it very misleading.

YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE! It was said you would destory dark paint jobs, not join them.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. Really looking forward to Obi regardless of his dark hair. Too bad it wasn't the AotC Kamino Kenobi or the dark hair would work here.

Guys, I know everyone keeps saying this, but---it'll look much better in person, seriously, you know this. And if this makes you not want to buy any more, then fine, because there's other people who will gladly take your canceled exclusives...

Remember, the GG Obi-Wan Kenobi shown is $185 and this figure is a fully posable--fully clothed 12" figure for around $50---now make your assumptions.

As far as scans go---do you know how expensive it is to use scanning machines? Those machines can cost around $10,000 to $20,000 for the scanner, then they have to pay someone to run it, then they have to pay someone to fix it up (hair doesn't scan in, it has to be remodeled) software for modeling is around $3,000 and updates every year, then they have to get a machine that cuts the piece, add that up together and that's where you get your prices. So don't have the "Oh my god it's not 1,000% perfect, I'm going to cancel all of my orders!" attitude, these are amazing figures for the cost.

Not diggin the darker colors and still with the thick eyebrows. OBI needs a hint of gray hair. The paint is too thick as well, the wrinkles in his face are gone.

I mean, you sit down with the manufacturer and show them the prototype, "we want it exactly like this or we don't pay you". It's not hard.

I let Anakin slide because the rest of the figure looked awesome, but to see the much delayed OB1 come out like this is bs.

The Prototype is perfect and full of life, look at they eyes.

That pic of the Qui-Gon bust is taken in the worst of condition with a horrible flash. I'm not saying it's that great a bust, but the picture is deceptive.

There is no sugarcoated camera angles for GG Qui Gon, the paint aps are a POS all the way around.

Yep. Very well said. Truly disappointing.

And Customikey, I'm glad you're looking forward to repainting Obi-Wan... because you might just be commissioned to repaint several of them.

Obi Wan Prototype = work of art

Obi Wan Production piece = decent.

It should not be that hard to send a paint app sheet to China with a check mark box:

Dark Brown
Light Brown
Etc

the more I look at it, the more I'm bothered by it. Those paint apps are really bad. For as many times as this was delayed, QC should have picked up on something that obvious. This is the farthest drop in quality to production from any of the figures yet.

I don't understand how anyone can look at that hi-res closeup and say that's a bad paintjob. It's not the prototype paintjob, but it's certainly not bad by any stretch of the imagination.

Hey Josh, how often do you get hi-res versions of the production pics? I remember asking you for some once and they weren't available.

It's lackluster compared to say Luke and the prototype.

I actually think the Luke Prototype looked worse than the Production Luke. Those first pics of Luke's paint looked tacky. He came out very well in the end.

Which is why i didnt say Lukes prototype. Production Luke was one of SS best when he came out. The OBI Prototype is the best ever.

He definitely needs that hint of blonde/red in his hair and beard.
