TheClipperKing !
I love your review !
First of all: You really got great posing skills - and when I saw the beginning of the first video I was so impressed I had to go and take a look at my figures. The smiling pose with bamboo and the bagged nunchakus and open hand pose looks so great ! I might want to try to do that pose for mine.
About the Chinese characters of Bruce’s name (row on the left): It is referred to Bruce Lee, but does not say "BruceLee", it says "Lee Siu Loong" - translated "Lee Little Dragon". If you talk about Bruce in Hong Kong - you have to refer to him as "Lee Siu Loong" as they do not call him Bruce Lee over there.
I do agree that if Bruce had finished his "Game of Death" it would be his best, and yes, the poor movie they put together (1978 version) after Bruce’s death was not good (I think they used about three doubles for most of the movie), and it was as you know very far from what Bruce intended the story to be.
You do make allot of very good critical observation and important points and I do agree about the flaws. You nailed your review BANG ON !
To me, the smiling head sculpt from Enterbay is far more superior to Arnie Kim’s smiling head sculpt which was released by Hot Toys. In my opinion it got more alive and does not look like a doll like the Hot Toys one. But you make a very good point that it is not from the same time period - how ever in my opinion Hot Toys did not do justice - to Bruce, and nor to Arnie Kim as an artist. I think that Hot Toys could have done wonders and great work with Arnie, but they blew it… I also totally agree on the eyes positioned to the side, but having a display with the eyes staring straight forward with the right pose should work.
The body of EB looks so much better in my opinion - more realistic when looking and touching it, but you are clearly right that the articulation is not as good as the HT body - so I agree about not giving it a full score because of that - but again, the looks (which I think is very evident in your video) is so awesome !
The pose in beginning of the 2nd Video is also very inspirational. Man, you really know how to pose with the body position, eyes, etc. - Fantastic ! Maybe I should invite you home to fix my display.
Too bad about the ankle - but like Hydeous mentioned, give Enterbay a chance to fix it. They should replace you with a fixed ankle and I know you do not handle yours - or your friend’s - figures with great care (be sure to mention this in your correspondence). I know it will be a little hassle with the return and the waiting, but it will be worth it - especially in the long run. Keep us posted about how it goes.
By the way, I did not like the open split in the wrist - so you could ask them to fix that also while they fix the ankle.
I am glad to hear that you sorted out and fixed the broken ankle - and that it is as good as new
Go you!
What issues was the 3rd Edition GOD supposed to address, was it just the sculpt or did they sort out the body as well!?
i think it was just a redone head.cant see EB spending more money on the body.but i'm sure someone out there will confirm what the score is.
Ronin didn't. I thought anybody that complained would get just the head. Didn't I read that here somewhere!?
yeah a repainted smile head with the eyes looking the other way i think i remember
Guys, are we talking about the 3rd. head or just general talk about the later releases of the "Game of Death: Behind the Scenes" set ? I am confused about all this talk about new release and stuff here, so fill me in.
I don't remember the specifics. Ronin Six's pics on OSW are good. From what I could tell from them the BD head looks better than I remember from previous versions. If you're on OSW go here:

The eyes on his smiley are to the right like mine are.
I saw the pics earlier. Reminds me more of Rorywan's BD head, than what is normally seen around the internet. Except Rorywan shaded the eyes himself. Do you know if Ronin customised figure at all? Maybe the rumour of the 3rd batch getting improvements was true?
Well it was somebody
How come that some does not understand that the sleeves should be pulled up - and not look like they are pulled down to make it look as if they are too short ? Bruce was an underarm fanatic and loved to show off them off....
I saw that, but this isnt the re-release is it???
I do not know anything about any changes than the previous once:
1) First release (with the BD head that had the original intended eye system that had problems because many had appeared crooked)
2) Beijing Show release with the extra jeans, shirt and a camera holder (plus the separate later release of a complementary third head which has not yet turned up....)
3) the 2nd. release of the first original HK release with the "fixed" eyes (changed to the separate eye [older] system)
4) ACGHK edition with the smiling head's eyes changed to look the opposite way.
Plus there has been some improvements done to the body (and it has been released separately with GOD shoes, socks and bracelet).
Any other versions/releases that I have missed ?
