Hey Darth Cruel. I believe you have the bicep armor backwards (as the indentation goes to the back of the arm).

Question for you.

Are the Medicom EP.2 troop's armor really that shiny like in your pics or are they the same as EP. 3 troops?

Thanks...wasn't paying attention.

The Medi-armor is a little shiny. But the flash compounds the appearance. (Edit - I believe it is the same as the EIII clone armor)

just phoned in and canceled the exclusive. the pictures look nice. i just got scared about the loose joints and the clunky armor. those were my main fears. plus i think i got caught up in having a jedi in armor. oh well, hopefully one of you guys on here gets the one i canceled. it was down to him and bank robber joker and the joker won out.:emperor

Good choice.:D

Since Sideshow has said that they will never reapeat a figure I wonder what head will they use for an Attack of the Clones Obi Wan since the one on the General Obi looks so good?

I think the key word here is "figure." I'd just keep the existing sculpt since it looks so good and swap the body for a buck and utilize his boots and belt from ROTS and Mace Windu's robes. It's potentially inexpensive and could easily be offered as a newsletter exclusive like Ki-Adi-Mundi (a lower cost would be nice too since it's a straight-across reuse of everything, perhaps $59). Although I can see it up there at $69 and all the whining that would cause...:rotfl

Can't use a Buck body with the new heads and the Mace's robes would be wildly inaccurate as an AOTC Obi.

Due on Friday :rock Finally. I'll be showing off my AOTC kitbash once he arrives. ROTS Obi-Wan tunic, robe and belt, Plo Koon undershirt, Hasbro AOTC boots, CW Obi-Wan lightsabers and head.

Can't wait until Thursday to get mine, to bad I got long work days until that day so its gonna be slow. But hopefully I get my days off request for the 24th-31st :)

I'm more than certain that Sideshow is capable of producing a neck that's compatible with the buck, beit an extra jointed neck like ol' Frankenstein or molding more on the neck to make it the standard SW style. As for the robes, it's not "wildly inaccurate" as you state.

Sideshow's Mace:

True, the outer tunic is a bit darker, but the under robe and trousers are near identical. Utilizing Qui-Gon's outer tunic would be a better match color-wise. Nevertheless, even going that route, with the exception of the additional sculpting needed for the neck, it's still all reused pieces.

AOTC Obi-Wan should be a rehash of the ROTS figure mixed with new boots and the head and sabers from the CW figures. The ribbing and cut of the ROTS tunic is perfect, just make the color more a grey shade with an ivory white undershirt and white pants and you're golden.

Yup and that's what I'd rather see. Not anything from Mace, Qui Gon or the other jedi.

Mace and Qui-Gon have a softer, canvas looking material for their tunics, Obi-Wan's got a bit of ribbing, the ROTS tunic does a great job capturing that.

The undershirt and trousers are wrong though. Hence why I said borrow them from Mace. And the tunic is too light which is why I suggested Qui-Gons for the correct color. i.e. keeping the cost low by reusing prefabbed parts. I can forgive a non-ribbed tunic to shave $20 off of the figure.

I thought the Medicom clones would be out of scale with everything. That's a pleasant surprise. I doubt my vaders would look good next to it though.

It seems to suffer a bit from TJS- The Jesus Syndrome, cause in some pictures he looks just a little bit like Jesus.

Dammit! Seeing that pic in your post makes me wish I'd picked up another plain white Medicom ROTS Clone Trooper to pose with Obi. I passed on the opportunity after the Shocktrooper and 501st came out thinking the paint made them look that much better. Since I have Palpatine doing the Sith Knighting aka "the love story" with my Vader Apprentice, I really have no need for the shock trooper. Maybe I'll find someone to trade the shock for a plain to flank Obi's other side, or fork out $200USD on EpaY for another one...:banghead

EDIT: And you're right. I feel like I wasted serious cash on the 501st Trooper. The Medicom Clone Troopers make the Medicom Vaders look like filthy Hobbitses.

Well Obi-Wan finally arrived (a day late). It's a very solid figure, but the complaints about the loose joints and the cheap feeling body armor are valid. I hope they work out the kinks with the body before the stormtroopers arrive.
