Looks like medicom is still king of the armor from reading this thread. Although the SS ones are a bit cheaper priced.

Here is another shot. The display is a work in progress. I need to do a lot of work to perfect it, but my intention is to display these four figures together, and add the red clone when that one comes out.

Edit - I am going to swap out the armor so that one of the plain white troopers is the one with the best articulation. The commander should be directing the troops.

I thought the Medicom clones would be out of scale with everything. That's a pleasant surprise. I doubt my vaders would look good next to it though.

It seems to suffer a bit from TJS- The Jesus Syndrome, cause in some pictures he looks just a little bit like Jesus.

You must have forgot to put on your midget vision goggles, it will show you what a real medicom figure would look like. An absolute requirement for this section of the freaks board. :D

so the loose joints on mine wasn't an isolated incident.
That's sucks. the more I try to pose it the more annoyed I get with the figure. I looks good, but part of the appeal for me is being able to pose it without the stand.

Wow,I would have thought this new body would have been an imrovment.

I guess that's why SS makes such great stands and Medicom doesn't.

Great paintjob but damnit Sideshow...

Please rid yourselves of the Doll Dot!!! It cheapens the sculpt by making it look dollish. Take a page from Hot Toys production style and STOP THE DOT!!!!

This is the accursed DOLL DOT:

Its the lame little white paint area on the eyeball which is supposed to be a reflection of light which is superfluous because the eyes are painted over with gloss so they naturally catch the light.

They paint a white dot over the iris to simulate a reflection off the cornea rather than just painting the eye glossy.

Sideshow paints a white dot on their eyes to simulate light reflection, rather than just sufficiently gloss the eyes where they do it naturally.

C'mon,one more interpretation?

Yup. I believe my explanation was sufficient. :lol

Yeah, the doll dot SUCKS... Needs to go IMO. But I repaint everything, so it doesn't really affect me much.

I should be getting my Obi next Monday, super excited about that. Can't wait to dirty paint him up. :rock

Well, I'm with you, the dot must go. At this point, given the quality of paint on the new bodied figures, eye paint jobs are the only weak point I see left, not just the dot, that's a big part, but in general, Hot Toys makes very lifelike eyes and sets a bar to reach, and first stride getting their is doing away with the doll dot. The dots actually took over Frodo and Sams eyes something horrible, it almost made Sam's eyes look like there was no pupil.

Hey Pix, I clicked the thread and then used the restroom before reading and posting!! lol Third time's a charm right? ;)

This way, theghostinside will always know when he's looking into a Sideshow figs eyes!
