U.S. and Japan dealers are apparently not allowed to sell the long telescope version to anyone outside of the country.

I am flabbergasted by this telescope discussion.

Sure, it is a bad move, but are people out there really clamouring for this accessory? Or is it merely because it is exclusive therefore;

It seems to be more an issue of, how dare HT not make every acessory available to all customers, particularly since this time, you're not even forced to buy from specific shops to get the extra item but have to have a shipping address in the designated countries.

I wanted HT to make it, I'm glad they have and that I can get it, but if I couldn't it wouldn't bother me much.

Yes it's a shady scenario, but exclusives aren't new and in life, people don't get everything they want, same goes for collectibles, you can't have everything and it's often no one's fault, people need to realize and accept this.

Yes, the exclusive is to the release, not the customers, or to put it another way, it's US exclusive in that it's only available to US and Japanese retailers (including us) it doesn't matter where the customer lives. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

UPDATE ON THE TELESCOPE!
USA retailers (authorized SSC retailers) can ONLY sell the Exclusive Version (with the long telescope) to USA customers. We can ONLY ship the non-exclusive (no long telescope) version internationally.

If someone in Italy buys from a US retailer, then of course they will get the exclusive. It's just that US and Japan retailers are the only ones getting/selling the telescope.

Who said that retailers are somehow suppose to monitor who gets the telescope and who doesn't based on their location? Seriously -- CSC has been instructed to do this? Only people who live in the US and Japan can touch a telescope? What if they are a US citizen but do not live in the country? It gets really complicated.

WRONG! SSC is only selling their exclusive stock within the US and selling the regular merchandise to us Canadians. Checked and verified.

Well, thats what we are being told now. SS WILL NOT SHIP IT TO AN INTERNATIONAL ADDRESS. Doesn't make any sense at all, except to piss off international customers who order from US/HK Official sellers. It positively encourages us to order from non-official outlets.
As I asked before, why piss off your customers over a stupid piece of plastic? It is not even a worthwhile exclusive.
