Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

If Hot Toys doesn't make a new Police Shootout/Battle Damaged then boy are they stupid. It's been said again and again, I know, but they need to make a battle damaged steel mill T2 and Police Shootout/battle damaged T1 (and Kyle Reese, if possible) before this line ends. Failure to do so would be ____ing retarded, especially with more Iron Man, Johnny Depp and Bruce Lee on the way.

Either way, I wouldn't mind NECA making a 12" 2-up Police Shootout, Tech Noir or any of the T-1000s, market competition or not. I like having the blown up versions of the 7 inchers, they're just really cool to own and display side by side.

In a perfect world I would have a 12" Police Shootout from NECA and a new 12" Police Shootout from Hot Toys.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

No plans at the moment. I would guess they might do the Police Shootout if HT doesn't come out with one before they'd have to commit to putting one out, but i don't see them doing any other 12", especially if they're not doing T-1000. They may not even have rights to do T1 in 12".

Once you have the likeness rights, i dont think it matters what scale you make.

It does, we've heard from Tankman that NECA hasn't had rights to certain scales for other products, I think Robocop was one.

Yeah as far as I know McFarlane had the rights to 8" and NECA could only do 18". Thankfully NECA are now going to do a proper 8" Robocop line. Can't wait to add them into the Alien, Predator and Terminator mix.

I would agree. We'll just wait and see now if they let the T2 20th anniversary pass by without any announcement. I haven't lost all hope but if by next year we haven't seen anything I'll be ready to declare HT fully retarded - even despite the great stuff we've received so far.

No need to call Voorhees a gay boy for a differing opinion.

This NECA Terminator vs. Hot Toys Terminator headsculpt debate needs to stop, it's been done to death already and it doesn't prove a damn thing. They're both great and they both have small "flaws".

The sculpts fit the scale and type of figure. The portraits on the NECA figures are well done for the $15 dollar, 7" action figures like wise the portrats on the Hot Toys portraits are well done for $150, 12" high end collectible figures. What one company has problems with (quality control for NECA, proportional issues with Hot Toys) the other makes up for (sharp detail proportions for NECA, superb paint applications for Hot Toys).

Just shut up and buy both.

I didn't seriously call him a "gay boy"... :dunno After newb, I had to come up with something. So it was either scrub, or gheyboi :lecture :)

:lol

I don't think so. Everything Tankman says in the Predator thread points to NECA quite deliberately avoiding 1/6 scale where HT have it covered. They abruptly stopped any further 12" T2s once the HT line began. I'm sure we would have otherwise at least seen a T-1000 by now to go with the Pescadero T-800.

I could have swore I saw a 12 inch T-1000 that wasnt HT somewhere. Has any other company done one.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

You're possibly thinking of Sideshow's one. OK for its time but outclassed in every way by the HT one. I'm not sure if theres ever been an All-Sculpted 12" T-1000 before. I don't think so though.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Cool. I can see it! Strange.

Looking forward to adding these to the 7" collection. This one will break up all the leather-clad Terminator looks a bit.

I love the way fan-names have stuck - 'Tech Noir', 'Steel mill' etc.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Tech Noir Terminator looks excellent but this Terminator doesnt look much of Arnold.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

The likeness or the punk look? That was his default hairstyle back in the 80s. The short back&sides look was his 90s hair.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

The Face and the Hair looks bad.
Its not Arnold.
Bad Likeness.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

This better have T2 series 1 and 2 QC rather than T2 series 3 QC. Most of the T-1000s I bought broke at either the shoulder or elbow, or both. One head even broke off, it was ridiculous.
