My local TRU got Sarah and Pops in today. Both look really solid. Really happy to have that SC in my collection. Man I wish they would reconsider a T2 John

NECA would achieve ''Best Toy Company Everrrr!'' status with me if they made T2 John and T1 Sarah.

The figures could do reasonably well if released with the right accompanying figures - like Uncle Bob and the Tech Noir T-800. Alas maybe not well enough to make the needed profit after paying for likeness rights and building moulds that maybe won't have re-use potential...

They could have done a T2 John Connor as a build a figure in the Ultimate T2 line, imo.

They probably don't see it as anything other than a full independent release if they're paying for likeness rights - and that would probably be expected of them by Edward Furlong and/or his representatives....I dunno, if I were to guess.

Anywho, received my Sarah and Pops order today. Thankfully no customs although I thought that could have been the only reason the order took as long as it did to arrive. Who knows. Not having to pay customs is a good thing. So they're here now and they're both excellent figures.

I may need to take a hairdryer to some joints but otherwise I could hardly be happier with these figures.

The headsculpts on Sarah are all home-runs as far as I'm concerned. Better than McFarlane, better than NECA's own Ripley likenesses it has to be said and better than Hot Toys sculpts. These really do look like Linda Hamilton, no question about it. Excellent paintjobs aswell, though not without a small flaw here and there.

I have a possible variant aswell. One of my 3 figures came with a head whose eyes are painted looking to one side (the ponytailed head without the cap or sunglasses) whereas all the others, including both my other capless/no sunglasses heads, have the eyes painted looking forwards. It's not a paint ****-up either, both eyes are convincingly painted looking off to one side. I'll post a comparison pic when I can.

I had been concerned about proportions and a ''spindly'' look based on pics more recently posted but these have mostly evaporated. Her legs could maybe be a little thicker but I don't expect this to bother me long-term.

Some minor negatives:

-Not sure how you get the tactical vest off (for the weapons-prep/''No Fate'' look) unless it's possible to pull the figure in half because the vest is all one piece and sculpted closed
-There is some paint-flaking on her elbow joints but it's not a huge area so it won't stand out too much
-The folding stock on the shotgun is an annoyance, I will probably end up glueing it in place
-It takes time to get her to hold the shotgun well, her finger will in no way reach the trigger, and we may have to accept a compromise on hand positioning etc I think I've got it looking reasonably good.

Overall, stunning figure and yeah it does really make you wish there was a John Connor.

Pops is likewise really cool. Probably not 100% accurate because I think it was based on reference material that became overwritten as production of the movie went on but very nice nonetheless.

The pants and shoes are the same as on the previous Genisys T-800, even the T-shirt appears to be the same but modified at the top with the battle-damage chest. The jacket and arms are different as are the headsculpts. I would say these heads are a little superior and ''even older'' Arnie also happens to be my personal preference. I love the grey hair - makes the figure stand out more. I wish the Hot Toys figure had been this version, I would more certainly buy it had that been the case.

Just looking at the figure overall NECA really have a knack for nailing Arnie's silhouette, his size and posture etc. This figure really captures old man Arnie. I'm looking forward to trying a custom I have planned to give him a full endoskeleton left arm and once again I'm tempted to buy a third figure so as to do that and display both the looks that the stock figure lets you do.

I bought a couple of ultimate Sarah figures last night from Go! calendars, games, and toys store yesterday. She's a great figure. I bought three, perfect paint apps and Quality Control on two of them, the third one however was a dud (bad paint, messed up right hip).

This might be blasphemy, but I like it better than all their other Terminator figures!

If you want the tactical vest off, just pop off the upper torso near the ab crunch joint. I was afraid to do it initially, but once I opened up my broken one and got word that I would get a replacement, I decided to go for it and see what it looks like. I can take some pics if you want. Once you pop off the torso, you can take off the tactical vest and knife holster/belt. Then you just pop on the torso and, viola, no tactical vest. She looks great that way too, the proportions on her sculpt are out of this world. NECA ****ing killed it.

The only thing I don't like about the figure are the small, dainty hands in comparison to the huge guns. Seems ridiculous. Well, that and my bent sniper rifles. All three of them are crooked.

Yeah one of mine appears to have a stuck hip. I'll try a hairdryer on it but if that doesn't work it's not a disaster, that'll be my default wide-leg stance Steel Mill Sarah with the shotgun.

Had a feeling the torso could pop off but didn't want to force it. Good to know.

Really good figure, can't get over how good the sculpts are. T2 Linda Hamilton through and through. She looks like a Terminator.

A T1 version would need a less severe facial expression and I'm curious how they'd fare with that but alas they probably won't make T1 Sarah.

Hmm, just discovered one black mark against the Pops figure - he can't actually aim his shotgun. He simply does not have the correct hand-sculpt for this particular gun-handle. The hand is sculpted for a gun with a curving handle whereas this shotgun has a straighter handle which is almost at a right angle to the rest of the gun. Therefore he can only look good holding the gun down by his side.

I heated my hip when it was stuck, but it was all gummy and still fell apart. I looked at the joint and it didn't look like the other two I got, very weird. And yeah, popping the torso off is easy. I kinda wish there was a 4th head (sunglasses, no hat) to replicate the desert scene, but what they gave us was great. I'd definitely consider this Sarah Connor "definitive" and worthy of the Ultimate title. All that for $16-$25 bucks is great.

For me personally, I wouldn't mind not having T1 Sarah Connor because we got this kick ass T2 version. Just having the character in 7" form, and a well done figure to boot, is fantastic. I do think John Connor is a MUST though. If NECA can make ****ing Kevin McCalister and a Home Alone line, then a John Connor should be a no brainer.

And I'm certain that NECA is doing atleast a Tech Noir Ultimate Terminator judging by Randy's comments on Twitter. Someone asked him about Police Shootout and he was like, "why not Tech Noir?".

The reason I don't see NECA making T2 John is the same reason I don't see Hot Toys now making Kyle Reese - because they've fronted the line with all the surefire bigger sellers. If you're putting out a less-than-guaranteed money maker character you surely put him in the middle somewhere or release him alongside the big sellers where he benefits from association with those more recognisable and more ''toyetic'' characters. At least that seemed to be the Hasbro way with the Star Wars line - you don't just suddenly come out with Icecream-maker guy as a lone release, you mix him in with recognisable characters

Same with lines I remember as a child. Would I have bought April O Neill in isolation? No. Would I have bought her alongside the Turtles, more likely yes. (really my mum would have been buying them for me but you know the point I'm making)

So I think T2 John would have needed to be released back when the line was in full swing with all the T-800 and T-1000 variants. That he wasn't pretty much kills all hope for him unfortunately. A shame though, just one character to complete the main cast.

Going to look for the sunglasses that came with the McFarlane Sarah to see if they can work with the new NECA head for that missing variant you speak of. They probably won't fit but worth a shot.

I'm fully on board for an Ultimate Tech Noir T-800. Hopefully with better paint apps than the older figures. They could do 2 Ultimate T1 T-800 releases that literally encompass all 4 of the previous figures.

Yeah but if they can take a chance on an obscure Macaulay Culkin figure, then why not a key character from an iconic blockbuster? Besides, surely John Connor would sell better than video game Amanda Ripley, Dallas, Kane and even Bishop.

If they do John the right way, I don't see why it wouldn't sell. Pack him in with an "Ultimate" black shirted Galleria T-800 for a two pack. Sure a kid John Connor figure is a gamble, but so is every figure anyone makes. There doesn't appear to be sure things that aren't Iron Man, Trooper, Batman, Ninja Turtles or Spider-Man related anymore, you know?

I suppose because Kevin McCallister is literally the main character of that franchise. If you get that license you definitely make him. Terminator is Arnold.

That is the thinking^ and like you I hate that that is the thinking because it means guys like us don't get to have our complete vision of a line. NECA requires the dollars from the casuals and impulse buyers and those people aren't after a John Connor figure or a Mike Harrigan figure, they just want the Terminator and the Predator. *****r*******rs.

It bugs me that the Toys R Us stores around here are full of the Genisys figures (a line I have zero interest in), but no T2 figures.

Back in 2009, I remember the aisles were pretty Terminator heavy with a bunch of space for the, then new T2 NECA line (7" and 12" figures), the T2 minimates and misc. In fact, there was more T2 product for those next couple of years than there were of Terminator Salvation.

That was quick, Ultimate T-1000 just came into stock at BBTS. Once that comes in I will only have one thing on preorder - that new Cinemachines line, series 1 (Alien/Aliens)

Is anyone collecting the Genisys line? I think “old man” Arnold is out now. Saw Asian T-1000 for $15 so I was considering.

He is out now yeah, just got him today, nice figure.

Awww ***t, forgot I needed to update my card with BBTS, just got a new one this month. So payment declined on the T-1000...just did an update but I'm not sure if it has gone through....

^got that sorted. Why do I post that sort of thing, no one needs to know that.

Anyway, another discovery about the new Pops figure - the interchangeable arm is a bugger to remove and needs the hairdryer treatment - however the small battle-damaged shoulder piece has a smoother connection part which ensures it can be put on and removed easily. They obviously anticipated that this would be difficult to remove once put in due to how little there is to grip onto, hence the different connector.

yeah that cinemachines line is awesome. Wonder what series 2 will be.

Besides all the Harry Potter characters, there's tons of Twilight characters. Yet, John Conner can't carry is own? Come on now.
John Conner could sell several different ways.

- Single carded. John with several accessories like backbag, laptop, endo skeleton arm in case, blade for the T-800 Man or Machine figure, and maybe even a life-size CPU chip

- Single carded. John with his motor bike and boombox

- 2 pack (similiar to Bioshock Big Sister/Big sister) John and Pescadero T-800. That T-800 is arguably the most iconic look for the Terminator. How many of us wouldn't spend an extra $10 to own a John with the awesomely sculpted T-800?
Perfect for the hardcore fan and the casual Terminator fan alike.

- 2 Pack. John with the Motorcycle T-1000. Since NECA is already making the biker version, reuse the legs from that version, the torse from Galleria and BOOM! Another famous look for the T-1000Give the T-1000 the shaking his finger hand as a bonus.

Come on NECA. One of those ideas has got to be to your liking. Think about it.
(somebody tweet that please) ;)

I've been posting this 2-pack idea with John & the T-800 since 2010! 6 years later, NECA has yet to make a move.
