True. Now that I think about it, seems a bit stale.

But maybe we'll be surprised. I expect something more from Ridley. At least I expect more from what I believe and hope Ridley to be.

I'd LOVE, absolutely LOVE to see Ridley Scott and James Cameron team up and do a new, true ALIEN movie so throw a lot of money at them and kiss their butts like crazy to make it so!

They wouldn't do that now, not after the AvPs. The old Aliens really are worn out. I don't think even those two could make them scary again.

No matter what is set up in this film I have no problem excepting a queen in the same universe.

It's just a form of self sustaining evolution.

Interestingly enough it does completely do away with Alien Vs Predator as cannon in the alien universe. If this is the first contact with the bio-goo and the alien as we know it does not yet exist in the Prometheus future setting... then there is no way the alien could have been in our modern timeline as seen in AVP.

AVP was already in conflict with continuity with the first two films. The Alien was a previously unknown lifeform in the films Alien and Aliens.

It wasn't an official name for it. It was a name he, or some higher-status guy came up with to describe what Ripley described in her report.
