My Vader finally arrived today and all I can say is WOW! I did the helmet mod and I'm in the process of modding the height. This is truly an awesome figure to behold. I still think the dome needs a bit more flare on both sides. But other than that he is perfect IMHO.

Congrats! You don't mess around :lol

Hasbro dome & and new cape are the only things needed IMO

I've got a hasbro dome on the way to see what it looks like in comparison. I'll probably do the same with the cape as well. I'm such a nit picker. Vader is supposed to be 2.02 meters tall which equates to 6'7". That translates to 13 1/4" in 1/6 scale. I'm still trying to figure out how I'll do it.

^I have somthing close to the hasbro dome mod. My Vader has a Hurricane helmet, which used the Hasbro dome as a basis. Additionally, my Vader is donning the custom iforigno cape. These pictures I previously posted show the mods. It is a HUGE improvement.

Here are a few pics of my Vader with custom Hurricane helmet and Iforigno cape. Not the most dynamic pictures but I just wanted to take a couple quick pics as I love this figure with these custom additions.

Anybody have a picture of the hasbro dome swap?

Here you go, and CONGRATS on a great figure purchase! :clap

Here is my Vader with height mod and Hasbro helmet swap, next to an untouched Vader head from SS:

Notice I added the widows peak to the Hasbro dome.

Here are some more pics of my custom Vader:

For the height mod I just chopped 1 1/4 from his super long thighs and re-attached them with epoxy. Before:

And after:

GOOD LUCK!

Not bad, but the front of the dome looks a bit low to me, other than that great.

What did you do with the Hasbro dome? I have one and figure I might just use that rather than modify the Sideshow one.

I was going for this look here on my Vader:

All I did with the Hasbro dome was add the widow's peak with Magic Sculp and painted it with Tamiya black, which matches the dome's colour quite nicely, I think. I used tack to attach the dome, so I can also adjust it at any time.

Wow. That looks really good. I can't wait for my hasbro dome to show up. Thanks for the pics. I knew I had seen them I just couldn't remember where.

I just got my own Vader today...and WOW!!! Can't wait to put next to my other figures. Almost...almost don't want open the box.:thud:

They can still be found on ebay, but from what I've read the light is so dim it's hardly worth it unless the display is really low light. I suspect all the awesome looking ones on this thread are modded and hooked up to a usb power source rather than running off batteries.

That's a cathode above in that pic -- no way it one of those battery operated $30 light-up sabers.

I got one of those battery sabers from Q and it sucks. Doesn't light-up half the time and when it does its very dim. Looks nice at night, that's it.

It may be just that I have a lame one... but I'll never know because Q never sent me the requested replacement for it.

:gah:

I've seen several in person and they are all like that, Wor, which is why I never got one. :vader

Does anybody know where to get one of these light-up lightsabers????

A fellow board member here named Katkuru sells cathode lightsabers that plug into a wall. You don't want the battery powered ones on eBay, they are dim. The cathode sabers are bright. And they last long. On weekends, I sometimes leave them on all day/night. I've had mine for awhile now and they are very bright. He sells them also at a very modest price, fully assembled for board members. Here's mine.

Love this figure. Glad I got it when I did and did the Hasbro helmet Mod. Looks soooo much better.

Hoping Sideshow does Grand Moff Tarkin to go with him.
