But your version of Vader on the left is from ANH, the picture on the right is from ESB. Maybe a comparison pic from ANH would be closer to your version?

Well, here's the eFX Vader helmet, which is based on ANH.

There's quite a difference between ESB and ANH....

VADER: if you don't have one yet, WAIT until the new SS one is revealed. Let's see what they fixed.


LUKE: This delay has nothing to do with "fixes". Whether they take advantage of the delay for 'tweaks', who knows?

I think it's great that there are many that have gone the extra mile to correct the details that SSC missed (helmet, cape, etc.) but at this point, getting a decent Vader would mean tracking one down on the secondary market (along with maybe a Hasbro dome, from what I've read in many posts), then modding it to get it to hopefully look as good as yours. For the trouble and expense, I'd rather wait for the re-release and trust they've corrected all the issues people had with version 1.

There's other things I don't like about the current SSC Vader too; the way the inner robes look - kinda stiff & not naturally 'pleated' enough, the texture of the body suit, the overall lack of the 'lived in' rougher look, that the ANH suit had.. yeah.

I think having to use a Hasbro 12'' Vader helmet dome as a better replacement piece, speaks volumes about SSC's attention to detail too.

I would've preferred they got the ANH version right first time, because it's my fave look for him.

Not Certian that THOSE pics are modded.

Those pics are of my modded Vader (lforgino cape, lowered the body, and lowered the dome). And I am NO customizer, these were simple enough. Vader is still one of the top 5 figures I own. I look forward to the ESB/JEDI SSC combo.

Musing about the possibility of a new Vader figure from Sideshow, which they have pretty much confirmed, I was wondering what everybody would prefer:
- To make an accurately sized Vader, i.e. shorter than their ANH version, or
- To keep the current size so that if people want to display all their Vaders they don't look out of scale with each other.

I would rather have an accurately sized Vader.

I'd also like new material for the cape and robe. Desperately.

Here's a before & after profile shot of how my Vader's helmet was repositioned from how it looked out of the box to how I have it now. Personally, the guff over how small the helmet looks suddenly doesn't become as much of an issue after this simple tweak.

(BTW, how did all this Sideshow Vader talk get in the Hot Toys Bespin Luke thread?)
