I'm 38 and people have always been **** tbh that's just life, and you obviously live in a rough area. I moved out of london when i was 4 and that was rough as well and nowadays where i used to live you see flowers on the pavement where cops have been killed etc.

Some towns breed trouble and lazy bums, but that is the same in most countries its nothing special.

lol! Funny thing is this town isnt that rough when you look at manchester and the like. We do have one of the worst schools in england; Queen elizabehts school 1561 endowed. Utterly attrocious. But I did well; 9 B grades at GCSE and then 3 A's at A-level (and I ended up a lorry driver lmao!)

But yeah its not too rough. our street is nice and the people are alright, we just have a druggy moved in across the road when the old lady passed away. Otherwise there is a very low crime rate apart from the town center which is natural and neighbours do help each other out tbf.

Oh. I dont mind if they practice Islam at all. I dont care about skin colour or where someone is from. We all have the same organs, we all have the same skin. All I want is them to embrace English, Scotch, Irish, Welsh culture and to speak english whilst still keeping their own individual identity, thats what makes the world go round.

I was doing a drop (truck driver) in Bradford. got there. out of the 20 people there, only 2 would speak english to me. The rest gave me dirty looks as if I was intruding. Doesnt matter, had 4 of them arrested because in their compound, they took my debit card and my driving licence, when to a relative who worked in the megastore round the corner and spent £800 with my card, ringing it through as if it was a telephone call. Shame the shops CCTV is hardwired to the web department up north.

I dont mind anyones creed, I dont mind if they dont practice christianity, i dont practice it. But we should have common values and respect, not come and spread hatred. I wouldnt dare goto another country and burn symbols of their beliefs and celebration. I visited a mosque in my home town as part of my RE course when I did 6th form, and they were so polite and friendly, it was great. I didnt mind taking my shoes and being respectful whilst they prayed. It was fantastic to see, answered any questions openly and honesty. I have huge respect for people like that. Id invite people into my home as I hope they would invite me into theirs.

Ofcourse, not every person is the same and I certainly dont tarnish every person with the same brush. Its just that every person ive come into contact with outside of that, they refuse to speak english, they give you dirty looks and sometimes, get abused. Doesnt matter what country they are from, many do it which is a shame because they should make effort like I would hope they expect me to do in their country because i just see it as respect.

Not going to lie, half the english people in this country are scum anyway

And they still have the cheek to call it GREAT britain for the LOLZ:slap

Christmas is offensive to so many people, we get poppies burnt and anti-gay leaflets posted through doors. Its sickening.

Sounds about right. I remember on an episode of Doctor Who a couple years ago the opening narration reffered to Christmas as "A pagan festival to banish the cold and the dark". Sure we borrowed some traditions from pagans, but Christmas has always been about the birth of Jesus.

Isn't Christmas like a dirty word in the US? I always hear people say Happy Holidays over there, here it's always Merry Christmas, hopefully that doesn't change.

I'll just add that people stick to their own cultures way too often. I remember my sister dated an Italian Australian years ago and his family only wanted him to date another Italian, talk about racist.

And what about all the violence these days? A girl from my hometown (less than 10 thousand people) knifed a few guys just the other day. The week before that there were 2 other stabbing murders in the city, just days apart. A few weeks ago a guy was walking down the street and was king hit by a total stranger and killed.

Yes. It seems just about everything is becoming a dirty word in this overly PC country. Since I started working for the government I dread the holiday because I know it's going to be a pain in the butt. There is a mandatory 1 hour employee "cultural diversity" training video that we have to watch. :slap

Only been to london once and that was to see Phantom of the Opera with my.... ex girlfriend now unfortunatly. But yes, it wasnt very nice to be there.

But then, every country has its problems. I recall going to Paris with school and christ, that was bad. Every place has good and bad in it.

Come to London again and I'll show you around - theres two sides to every coin ;)

Regarding values, have to say some of the minorities in the UK have a lot stronger value systems than the majority, so again, there's a flip side to everything you've said in the last couple pages

What does Supermodels have to do with Olympics? It was absolutely bizarre seeing 9 models doing the catwalk like pose there? The best ceremonies ever is Beijing. I still remember to these day. The 2008 drummers and Thai Chi performers is extremely hard to beat.

What do drummers have to do with Olympics?:slap:slap:slap

If Culteral Diversity training is done correctly, it's a great tool for the workforce. I've been through good cultural diversity training (private sector) and piss poor cultural diversity training (gov't).

It's never a bad thing to learn other's perspectives and have them learn yours.

The first time I had the class, it was a week long interactive class. Man did I learn some new derogatory racial terms....and for the longest I just thought the only term for whites was "cracker.":rotfl

Oh absolutely. I had to take several classes on this in college, but a one hour online presentation isn't going to teach much of anything. I tried to join the "cultural diversity work group" that is responsible for the learning material, but was denied because they already had enough people involved in it. :dunno
