With a mac, you'll never have to worry about drivers again.

That's not as much of an issue as it used to be---Windows 7 has generic drivers for almost everything these days, when I built my computer I only had to install 1 driver--everything else was already supported without any extra installation.

As much and NOT is worth the price of a Mac for me. No defragging no nothing. My computer just works. That's all I ask for. A Mac does everything I need with ZERO work or maintenance. Love it.

You sound like the type of person who would pay $100 for Best Buy to hook up your home theater system

To be honest no. I'm very good with that stuff. Computers not so much. But even so, what's wrong with wanting something to work? That is without tinkering. I don't have to constantly futz with my DVD player to work. Nor my washer and dryer. My point is when I buy something I want it to work like it did the same day I bought it. A pc can't do that over a Mac. It just can't. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings a bit. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Thats been one of the best things about this mac. I've had really no issues at all with it. Everything I moved over was easy and installed the same. I also have to worry about so much less with it than I did my PC laptop. Best B-Day Present ever.

Washers and dryers don't have viruses and neither does Apple....because it's not worth the hackers time...not that that is a bad thing.

I won't own an apple because I'm afraid someone will pull my man card if I open up a laptop and it has an apple symbol on it. :)

But seriously if Apple wants to compete in the computer world they need to drop their price, I added 8 gigs of ram, graphics card and power supply for chump change...would have cost an arm and a leg with an Apple. No problems with Windows 7 Ultimate either. To each their own though.

It doesn't hurt my feelings at all--I just hate when people spread lies

Computers with Windows have about as much issues as a Mac, but people often screw them up themselves--downloading something with viruses or installing too many things they don't need which bloats the system. Those are simple things people can avoid.

So if you really want to spend twice as much for a machine so you can browse porn sites with viruses that aren't compatible with your system and not have to install anything new since most companies don't have Mac versions of their programs, then go ahead.

In the past 10 years, Apple has more than doubled their marketshare and have hovered around #3 and #4 in sales rankings for a while. I think they are competing just fine.

They should be able to afford to lower their prices then.

No.

Are you suggesting that if a Windows user never went to a porn site he would never need to defrag his computer?

I have not defragged my computer since I built it, and it still runs fine

And I also doubt that Mac is somehow able to avoid the same problem--even if it does it automatically in the background that just means your computer is slowed down without you knowing it while it does it.

I am pretty sure with modern operating systems defragging is not really necessary.

But I guess the real question is, what does porn and defragging have to do with each other?

If this is something that truly concerns you, you don't deserve your man card to begin with. The last thing that someone should be concerned about is what someone thinks about the brand of computer they own. I'm not sure where you bought your memory from, but I upgraded mine to 6gb from newegg for less than $100 two years ago.

They're also ranked amongst the most reliable according to this article:

And back in June Apple is worth more than MS and Dell combined:
