Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

DMC and AWE suffered a bit in the writing, they were written as they went ahead filming them

Curse also was on a super tight schedule and the writers were very excited to be on set while still rewriting big chunks of the movie if you listen to Gore in the commentary. Never a good thing IMO.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I just switched my 2 Jacks and Will to narrow shoulder bodies and they look awesome. I did break the buckle on one of my Jack's dark brown belt. Does anyone happen to have an extra or know where I can get one?

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Well one good thing worth getting excited about, if they start filming next year, maybe HT will take an early strike and release some first trilogy figures to prime people for 4th film figures while it's in production.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Does anyone know how Will Turner's sash is supposed be wrapped? When I started unwrapping it, it immediately came loose and I don't remember how it should be wrapped.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

With Will's sash, you fold it in half, take the end with the strings dangling from it and wrap it around his waist and pulling it down through the loop made at the other end of the sash and then you wrap his belt around it.

Thanks, that makes perfect sense. It was when I took one of the ends out of the loop that the whole sash fell off. I'll snap some pics of the Jacks and Will after I'm done. The narrow shoulder body swaps make a huge difference.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Are you using a narrow for Jack with his coat on, I'd be curious to see if that makes any improvement, the coat seems to keep the shape of the wide TT even if you have a smaller body in it.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Forgive my ignorance...what is a DX version? If its something really cool or special (as it sounds like it is) I may get one to replace my Medi Jack.

Hot Toys is releasing new versions of some of their figures and calling them "DX" versions. They include updated and extra outfits, updated sculpts with either light up features (Bat Man) or movable eyes (Joker) and light up bases. They honestly look amazing. Take a trip over to the DC section of the forum and check out the photos. VERY cool.

Here's a shot of my jack on a narrow shoulders TT from the thread in general:

Here's my pic of both Jacks and Will on narrow shoulder bodies:

The shoulders sit much better and the clothes look more relaxed. Plus they don't look like they're trying to hold muscular poses. I'm very impressed with the look of the pirates on the new bodies, and they look even better in person.

As I supsected, Jack's shoulders still look too broad with the coat on, that coat's just too firmly stitched for the full TT. Still hoping for a DX with a better coat.

Actually the coat looks a bit less filled out now. I'm sure if someone were to remove the padding, the jacket would look just right (though I'm not going to try it until someone else does first).

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I think they look alot better.

And ripping out the shoulder padding in the coat is an excellent idea. A little water treatment after that and... bingo!

Here's some more pics fellas:

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

The jacket on Will actually looks much better now, and the shoulders slope more naturally. It actually looked more loose and over-sized until I posed his arms. If you bend his arms it won't look so bunched up along the wrists.
