This might be old news, but I just read an article (about Spielberg's Crichton Pirate movie) and it said that Disney was aiming for a 2011 release for Sparrow 4.

Haven't heard that, good to know.

My new TT's shipped today, I'll be trying the slim for Jack when I get them next week.

It's just bar with a ball joint on each end, one end goes into a plug in the boot and the other into a plug in his calf.

What are the chances that HT will release a DX Sparrow? I want a decent sparrow in my collection, was thinkin of getting the cannibal and the V1 to kit bash the perfect jack. But I don't wanna do that, only to have a DX sparrow announced a few months later.

A DX Jack would be great. Like the Joker, he could greatly benefit from the PERS system. Plus we've yet to get a full toothy smiling Jack sculpt. If Pirates 4 happens, I can definately see Hot Toys giving us a DX Jack then. Before then is really iffy. Heck, if Pirates 4 happens we might even get the long awaited Barbossa! Here's hoping he keeps his usual costume!

I believe I read that POTC 4 beings filming in Spring/Summer 2010 with a summer 2011 release aim.

I think at this point DX Jack Sparrow is definate. The only questions I find are, when will it be released, 2010 to ship in 2011 before the film release like the new BD Iron Man to get people thinking about collecting POTC again, or will it be premiered in 2011 with the film debut and for sale later.

The other question is, will Jack's appearance be significantly different in POTC 4 and will the figure be based on that look or the trilogy look.

Whatever happens, I think it'll be about another year at least before we see signs of DX Sparrow. If there wasn't a new movie coming, that surely HT knows of, I'd say maybe sooner, but with their tendancy to ride the release of films, I see them holding off until at least hype for 4 starts.

Agreed.

I expect a Barbossa then, too, as long as Rush returns for the 4th film.

I love the figures I have (Jack, Will, Elizabeth) but I wish I could get my hands on Will and Elizabeth's Curse of the Black Pearl outfits. My preference would be for my collection to represent Curse only.

I was @ Disneyland last week, and checked the Pirates ride twice!
It's awesome!! And all the little movie tie-in are great!!

I hope to get back to Florida and check it out, last time I was at the park, they had Pirates closed for the updates and it was going to be like another month before it was up and ready for visitors.

Received my Slim TrueType today and decided to try it for Jack and I personally feel it's the best HT body for Sparrow/Depp and truly hope any future Jack's use this and not even the narrow shoulder body.

Should have mentioned, that's the Medicom coat on him, since it fits nice, I went that route because I find the fabric and color works better than the Hot Toys existing coat.

Yes, probably even more, the slim body has a puny build, there's plenty of gap as is to tuck his pants into the boots that wasn't really there on a normal TT, so if you do your boot mods, he should probably drop in further, though maybe the boots won't hug on and stay on without adding something to pad out the calves.

I will admit, all TT's with the POTC boots end up too tall, but at least the body proportions can be much better.

So how's the HT coat on him? Any improvement with the new body?
