Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Blackbeard is Edward Teach. And he's a likely suspect. Although, like Davy Jones, probably reinvented into a supernatural villain of sorts.

Considering what was said about him while he was aLIVE,( everything from a Vampire, to a ghoul, to the devil himself) and the "ghost story" about his death, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

The supernatural and sci-fi stuff can be really cool, Davy Jones, and really bogus, Calypso, depending on design and execution. I hated when Calypso became basically Tia Dalma just 50 feet tall, it looked so goofy, I think it would have been effective enough if she had just faded into the clouds and the storm started to form, they'd know they were screwed and the plan didn't work.

yeah that whole scene had be going "...ok shes big now what? hmm crabs? well alright i guess..." otherwise i really enjoy the super natural stuff and monsters, i loved the Kraken and was sad to see it go.

I wouldnt mind another cool sea monster like a leviathan (sea serpent/dragon) but i understand if they don't use that to avoid repetitiveness.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I don't think something like the Kraken would be repetitive, I think it'd be natural, there are many creatures that actually live in the sea for real that we don't even know about.

I think you can more safely stretch mythological beasts than people. At some point, too many curses and you start to scratch your head and wonder how any person can't have a curse of some kind on them :lol

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

3 things I wish when I see this thread:

Someone sells me their kojun sparrow for cheap.

Someone sells me their cannibal sparrow for cheap.

HT announces a DX sparrow.

I wonder which one would come true :D

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Cannibal Jack's most likely, with DX after that. I don't think anyone at this site has the Kojun Sparrow.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I wanna wait for the DX sparrow. But seeing pics of him here makes it that much harder to wait :lol

But there's that guy from the phillipines who own the kojun sparrow, no?

Which forums would most likely have stuffs like that? OSW?

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Kojun's Sparrow was an extremely limited thing, I don't think you're likely to find anyone parting with it and I think someone mentioned once if it is found for sale it's like $1000 or more because of how rare it is.

Odds are the next Sparrow from HT will be sculpted by Kojun.

That would totally :rock

Meanwhile I guess I'll just try and stay away from this thread till they announce it.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Indeed it would, as good as Yulli has Depp's likeness, Kojun's Sparrow sculpt better captured the character.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Careful if you get offered the Kojun one here hydeous. Very unlikely and not sure if they were banned, but granado.espada had one and ripped kazukijun off badly in a trade.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Now that HT has used buttons like they have on Marcus Wright's coat seen below, any future Jack's should have the same kind, those buttons are perfect for Jack's coat, so much better than the cheap glued on crap the Pirates coats used, that fall off.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Question for anyone that own Master Replicas' Dead Man's Chest. I just was messing around with mine, and it seems to be stuck. I can't open it. I don't know if the paint fused the lid closed, but when I turn the crab, it still won't open.

Anybody else experience this??

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Thanks for the advice, Snake!

Yeah, poor kazukijun. Actually, I was about to bite, until he got it first.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

We need a DX Jack asap!

Watching the trilogy again got me all piratey. :D

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I want a Barbosa. DX or not. I know we've mentioned it a zillion times before, but his absence in the line is huge.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I started collecting the Hot Toys Pirates line and I can't find the Will Turner or the Cannibal Jack anywhere. On ebay there are only rare ones listed from Hong Kong or Singapore for alot of money. Did these 2 never make it to the United States? Did I just miss them entirely? I am on the waitlist for them on Sideshow. Did Sideshow already ship the ones they were going to get out? Or have they not come in to the US yet? Do I have any chance on the waitlist? Thanks for any answers in advance.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I have the Will Turner and others on here have Cannibal Jack, so they've definitely come to the states, and sadly Sideshow is sold out. There's always the chance a few will turn up in the warehouse, but that is likely your best bet for the waitlist.
