According to the website that is the body Will comes on... seems this if the first time they've released one with that style neck. Kinda sucks to take a step backward like that. Not to mention he's gigantic.

oh hell yeah!!! the cannibal head looks great!!! that all i care about. i think that smiling head is suffering from a bad pic guys. im sure it looks great as well.

It's a good pic of him smiling, but from that angle you miss seeing his sneer pretty much. I was really after a good Depp likeness, and that it captured his sneer, so I could swap out the original head and have two great Jack's. Now I'm thinking of seeing if I can cancel my pre-order, because this is a let down. At this stage I'll wait and see if any pics show some improvement, but it's not looking good, in more ways than one.

debating canciling will. I understand why hot toys gave him a fixed neck, as his ^^^^ is open more. but I don't like it. I would swap him to another body. just not sure if it's worth the effort......
how hard is he to find aftermarket ATM?

One thing, it looks like they gave more material length to the scabbard belt so you can loosen it up to hang properly at his hip instead of it being under his armpit like the original Sparrow.

Looks great to me, with the right photography, the quality will shine, guess I have a project for myself haha.

One plus I'm seeing, it looks like possibly, HT added leather to his sword bandolier so maybe it'll sit as low as it should with some adjustment.

Great minds think alike . You post wasn't there when I hit reply, (in best Jack voice) I swear.

Anyway, I'm thinking I'll give my original Jack the best of accessories, scabbard, head, whatever else may seem better, and hide the lesser items on the Cannibal figure as the cannibal gear will be the main focus and not scabbards and such.

My plan exactly. I'm not even sure that Cannibal Jack had the scabbard anyway. Didn't they take that away from him? So it works perfectly. Plus, Cannibal Jack has plenty of stuff with the hat, staff and toe necklace. You'll never miss the scabbard.

I would like to get a good bamboo pole and tie him up, maybe give him a dinner knife. Slide some fake fruit on the pole too. Make him look like he's about to topple off the cliff with that expression.

Get a small hook in the ceiling an hang him from it like when he's falling down the cliff, "whoahhhhhhhhh ooof......oh bugger......ahhhhhhh!" I love that, and the music is so perfect to, fun and goofy.

You are correct though, he had no weapons or coat on the island. Makes you wonder what sorts of goings on happened between beaching the Pearl and Will's arrival.

Smiling head is meh. Although, I do think it is better than the first Jack head, so I'll definitely be making use of it.

There's some better pictures of the Smilin' head in that link other than the one pic posted. I think it looks fine, just like the proto to me, just in different lighting (flash = bad).

But there's no comparison to the Cannibal head -- that sculpt and paint work is just about the best I've ever seen. A welcome piece to the POTC collection. Probably THE BEST piece over the long haul. Might be the most sought after in time too. The Hicks of POTC.

Indeed, a couple totally look like Jack, especially the eyes, the most hurting part of the first figure's portrait. Anatomically, I can see Johnny in that one, but the eyes weren't Jack's eyes, this new sculpt has it. Can't wait to get my hands on him and photograph him as he should be.

Could be, unless they do another Jack. If they do a Curse Jack with the cocky grin like we were discussing early, then that will be THE Jack figure, guaranteed and could reach Hicks status but not quite. Off topic a moment, I think Hicks' popularity is as much to do with the sore lack of good product from that franchise as anything else, but with Pirates, there have been some pretty good products, not of this caliber but it's not as if there's a thirst for merchandise and nothing to quench it like ALIENS.
