Could be, unless they do another Jack. If they do a Curse Jack with the cocky grin like we were discussing early, then that will be THE Jack figure, guaranteed and could reach Hicks status but not quite. Off topic a moment, I think Hicks' popularity is as much to do with the sore lack of good product from that franchise as anything else, but with Pirates, there have been some pretty good products, not of this caliber but it's not as if there's a thirst for merchandise and nothing to quench it like ALIENS.

True. But the Cannibal Jack is just so cool, plus you get a second head, it seems like a good bet it will be THE one to get if the line improves with a new, proper scale Will and Eliz.

If they do another Jack, then the Cursed one is all that's really left that would be unique. Of course, the clothing will have to be torn...and most likely they'll go they're new way -- PVC skeletal Jack within torn clothing. So another Jack head, with that toothy grin, may not work nor make financial sense with a whole new figure (new clothing too -- ripped is new).

So this may very well be the last of the extra Capt Jack heads.

Well, the new smiling headsculpt looks a lot more like Jack Sparrow/Johnny Dep than the V1, even though the smile is not a Sparrow look I'm familiar with.

Cursed is the last unique one, unless they did dream one from Davy's ship, "nobody move, I've lost me brain." Curse normal would still be good though and is a chance for 2 more heads, and knowing HT, if they think they can sell it, they'll make it.

But if it's just Cannibal and Regular Jack for the line, then yes, this will be THE one.

As for Elizabeth, unless HT made a new female base body, not likely, she'll never be in scale, and Will, hopefully this is the only time we see him on whatever body he's on.

He does it sometimes, not a lot, he does it at the end of AWE when he passes on another kiss from Elizabeth.

Cursed Jack would be a good companion piece with Barbossa.

Of course, so would a new Eliz. But I'm still holding out for DMC Eliz and Will.

Hopefully the cancelations for this new AWE Will won't stop that from happening.

If I can get a DMC Will and Eliz and a Barbossa from either film, my shelf will be complete. Tia Dalma or Davy Crew members are all gravy.

Davy Jones is listed as shipping in May in tonight's SSC newsletter I can't wait for him, even more than Cannibal Jack, ever since I got my Medi Jack I've wanted an opponent for Sparrow.

Cannibal Jack was listed as Late April a week or two ago along with Will, maybe he'll be same time as Davy or maybe same time as Will but we'll only get like 12-15 day notices with him or something.

That list is odd, sometimes things aren't on when you have notices, I don't know what drives it, if it's a manually compiled list or what. At the moment, I'd say Will's on time, his notice pegs him still a week or so away so until he's late by his notice, I'd say business as usual. Jack's a question mark, he could be closer to Davy perhaps.

After seeing the flood (we all expected it right?) in this weeks newsletter of stuff arriving in the next few months, Jack 2 is getting the axe for sure unless I somehow come into unexpected money. I fear Davy might now as well.

I can't bring myself to cancel Davy; I consider the character one of the great movie monsters, and this looks to be the definitive figure for him. I'm just gonna have to scrounge up the cash. I'm actually hoping to arrange it as an anniversary present from my wife.

I'm definitely keeping Davy. If I had to sell all of the other POTC figures, Davy and Jack would be the two I would hold onto, no question.

Funny really, Davy is the first i would cancel and that is over 2 Jacks, 2 Saos a Turner and an Elizabeth Swann. Guess I like humans more than monsters.

Here's how I'd rank the current releases so far, based on keep or let go in a pinch, 1 being the absolute keeper.

1. Cannibal Jack Sparrow
2. Davy Jones
3. Captain Jack Sparrow
4. Will Turner
5. Elizabeth Swann
6. Sao Feng Regular
7. Sao Feng Special

Easily, if I had them or had them on order, I could drop the Sao figures, they're really well made and look nice, but to me, they cost too much for such an underused character, and his looks isn't so unique that it makes me still want to pay what he costs regardless of how little he was in the film. After that, Elizabeth loses points simply for the fact that due to HT's body system, the males make her look horrificaly misproportioned and out of place, so she loses points for being a square peg in a round hole. Basically, it'd be hard to pass up or get rid of any of the top 3, but while the V1 Jack is the more encompassing Jack Sparrow figure in that it has his hat and coat and covers his appearance for 90% of Pirates 2 and 3, it doesn't have the cool factor of the items included with the Cannibal figure so he ranks low, and since you'd have a Jack in that ranking, he definitely doesn't beat out Davy Jones. In my eyes, Jack Sparrow IS Pirates of the Caribbean, so at the minimum you need him in the collection, after that, of what we've got, you need Davy Jones as the ultimate visual villain of the trilogy (Barbossa is the best, but more for character than appearance).

I agree with your ranking, Maulfan, except that personally I would switch Cannibal Jack and regular Jack.
