It is very good. Very short though (about 5 hours). Heavenly Sword is still one of the best looking games out there.

Pick up Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The second one is currently my favorite PS3 game.

You weren't lying when you said short! I finished the game in less than a week! This game is highlariously easy!:rotfl

Ok I'm kinda having a little problem with my PS3. When I'm playing a video game and then decide to quit and pop in a DVD to watch, while it loads the DVD, it makes a "grinding" like noise. But if my PS3 has ben shut off for awhile and I pop in a DVD without playing a game beforehand, it won't make that noise. Anyone else experience this and should I be concerned? I heard it could be the laser having trouble reading the disc.

3 of my friends have all had their ps3s die this year - all less than 2 years old..........

All 3 of em kept their systems in standby mode...cant help but wonder if that is a cause......

Mine just died the other night while I was playing MW2 online. I've had it for 3 yrs and I've always kept it on standby mode and never had any problems with it, until I moved it into my bedroom and put it on the dresser. I'm pretty sure overheating is whats causing that noise problem. If you can buy a can of compressed air and clean it out (without opening it of course) every now and then. I was to lazy to go buy another can and my console paid for it....

I'm not sure if mine is overheating as it is in a well ventelated area and not next to any other electronics. It's also less than 3 months old and I haven't played it much. I had another PS3 that I exchanged for my current one cause it kept freezing.

Yeah. I finished it in one Saturday afternoon. I worked 23 days straight with school on top...so my first Saturday off after getting my PS3 I spent playing ALL day. The game looks good and plays pretty good, but its kind of lame. Sixxaxis controls are weak, gameplay is a little crazy sometimes, and of course its freaking short.

Sorry to hear that guys. I have a 60 GB as well with an upgraded 500GB drive and since MW2 and AC2 came out its been freezing up a lot lately. I have cash set aside to replace it with a slim, but I don't really want to because I like the backwards ability, the large amount of ports, and IMO the slims are fraking ugly. As much as PS3 loyalists hate to say...but the PS3 is not without its faults. Nowhere near as bad as the Xbox 3????Ti, but its pretty depressing to know that my old NES is still kicking strong when the newest and greatest consoles yet can't even last an entire generation.

is that an issue?
I know awhile back people were saying the opposite.
that powering it off would cause problems...

Damn, I hope not, cause I power mine off....and I actually have no idea...just when I asked each of them, they all told me they just used standby mode........and all were around 18 months old - one may have been a full two years old.......

I just found it odd that in such a small group, 3/4 have all died due to overheating issues, apparently....!

standby is powering it down without flipping the switch on the back.
So its off, but the red light stays on.

I only flip the back switch on mine when it hangs up every once in awhile.

Slim or fat?

It's a Slim model.

I should note, none of my discs are scratched nor is there anything wrong when they are playing, it just make that noise when it first loads up and only on DVD's and only on DVD's if I have been playing a game before hand (if I just insert a DVD without playing a game first, it won't make that noise). The noise itself only lasts for severall seconds but it's pretty loud I'm worried it might be a prelude to a bigger prob;em down the road.

Ohh so "standby" is the same as turning off the system? Who came with the brilliant term?

:lol I dont know, but was wondering the same thing. I actually Googled the term cause Standby to me is equivalent to a computer going to sleep, but still having the power on.

Aw man, that's not what I wanted to hear. :monkey2 I sold my fat and bought a slim because of all the problems I was having with my fat. (I didn't sell a bad system, I sold a working one that was replaced by Sony - I'm not that evil :monkey3 )

Slims don't have the switch in the back I belive.

Right, stand by only for the slim. I doubt stand by mode is causing the problems, but until we start getting official acknowledgement from Sony
we wont
we'll just have to look for voodoo type answers like stand by mode or software updates to be the cause of our problems.
