Statue Predator 2 - Elder Predator Statue

Well, as I viewed these pictures I was amazed.. "This might be the first SS item I buy in a while."

..but then I saw the side view...

Looks like someone shoved his mouth/mandible area back into his face, and inflated his head. Looks like a pug...

This was definitely close though. Dunno why it's so hard to sculpt somthing accurately, and not forget the rings..

Hopefully new pics will change my mind, because everything else looks great.

Does not appear to be a multimedia piece. Entirely of polystone (maybe?).

Perhaps on Thursday, when this goes up for PO, we'll have the specs/dimensions.

One thing that's bugging me is not knowing whether or not this will have a mandible ring. The piercing is defnitely there, but I know better than to "assume" that it will come with one.

The worst thing that's bugging me is not knowing how the paint app will turn out. We all know by now, that the prototype and the final-retail version never have the same paint app.

looks fine to me from the side . The only other things I noticed is his tusk isn't broken and there is no laser mount on top of the cannon. There's defn a hole for the ring, but don't know if it's included yet. All in all, it's much much more accurate then the P1.

When the pre-order page goes live on Thursday, the mandible ring should be listed there if SSC wants us to believe that the statue will come with one.

They should just have holes pre-drilled just like the HT AvP Elder. Then you just put hem on yourselve.

They're the same price.
I recommend getting the EX if you already know for sure that you'll be pre-ordering.

You can sell the xeno skull to someone here. You'll definitely get a buyer.

If i get it i wont get EX. If i order from Sideshow i get a big VAT turkey slap. If i order it from some dude on ebay i can usually evade the tax. But dudes on ebay charge more for EX even though it cost the same to buy. So id rather just buy regular with no vat charge than EX with vat charge

Maybe the mouth is just too small, or the forehead is sticking out too far, but it doesn't look right. Actually it might be how far the top of the head is leaning, think it needs to be pushed back a bit.

..I don't understand how they miss these small details. It's like they don't have to research what they're sculpting before they sculpt it, they just go off of memory or somthing.
No ring, no broken mandible tooth, no aiming thingy above the caster, the lack of quills..



Other than all of that, he actually looks really nice.

that's pretty minor to me, except for the mandible ring. All the other things don't bother me, but the ring is very important piece to the Elder look, I will prolly wait and see with this one. Don't you collect HT Preds? Almost all of those are way more inaccurate then this, and they aren't much cheaper.
