Yeah, but I was looking forward to Japan.

Suppose it's all rumours...

Hmm, maybe it'll have some sequences wrapping up the events of Prey and then cut straight to the main events of the film? But even so I think Prey ended well enough and I'd be curious to know how they'll continue the character (should it happen).

Zero interest in watching a direct sequel. I don't want to see anymore Naru or her tribe. New stories, in new places, in new time periods please. Like the rumoured movie set in Japan.

No reason they can’t kidnap her and then crash land in Japan somehow after some on-board mishap. Wouldn't it still line up with feudal Japan in the timeline anyway?

Like a variation on the link between AVP and AVP-R . . . and we all know how well THAT turned out :)

.

I want a new protagonist.
Yeah, and they've never repeated a protagonist in this franchise before - although they wanted to with Dutch and were probably planning to with Royce but for apparent lack of demand. Considering the relative success and praise this movie received it's not surprising if this is when they actually break the trend. Would it be a good idea? I'm thinking not and it could backfire and ruin a decent standalone showing for Amber Midthunder.

Exactly. We've never carried a protagonist over before and I didn't like Naru enough for me to want them to break that trend.

I thought she was fine (granted, only seen it once) but repeating characters

:lol

I’m indifferent either way and don’t have a dog in this fight but Naru seems to be pretty popular and I’d be more surprised if they don’t break tradition by bringing her back.

Especially if Trachtenberg is involved again as the returning director because that’s something that hasn’t happened yet either.

Best thing about this is that there's slim chance we might get some some Native American 1/6 figures from somebody.

And I don't mean TBL's latest Hen Party fancy dress 'Huntress'.

Welpppp I went ahead and bought this (the brown version), since it's the closest thing to a Naru figure as we're gonna get  (Hopefullyyy at least NECA makes a figure of her!)
