It did have mesh, with a lens in front so you could only see it in certain shots...P1 did, not the HT figure..the real, screen-used Bio.

...atleast I think that's the last I heard.

And yeah, the mesh was VERY small.

Yeah, thats another thing.:exactly: It has the transparent lens on TOP of the mesh. Baloo did an excellent job of recreating that from what I can remember. HTs shouldve used the same technique as baloo or left plain lenses IMO.

@ Butters - You actually prefer it to the protos bio?
If so, thats cool but I will have to disagree.
Also, I was referring to the original Predators bio when I said I wasnt sure if it has mesh or not. Ive seen large images of it that suggest that it did indeed have very fine mesh just like classics, but I cant really tell for sure. It most likely does have mesh though.
But yeah, its going to be an extra 'fix' I will have to do. I dont know about it being easy though, as Ive no idea which is the best way to do it right now.
Any ideas anyone?

I'll wait till I have it in hand before I'm really able to say one way or another... I like the mesh look of the lenses, but the gloss black lenses in the proto bio did look a little meaner and cooler. It's easy to add a couple of drops of gloss paint to the mesh if it doesn't look right when I get it, it's not a big deal to me really. The original P1 movie bio has fine mesh lenses, too.

I'm almost certain that it was just mesh, there wasn't a transparent layer layer over it. Reaktwon has some great photos that show all the details of the mask.

Got any photos? There might have been a transparent layer behind the lenses to reinforce them.

In my SWS book, in two photos it clearly has lenses, and they're definitely on the outside.

I shall check Sabres Photobucket images for the pics..

I have the Winston Effect book, too, but that was a preproduction test shot. (no laser, etc.)

Not the best image....but the mesh is over the lenses in this one.

I'll find a better shot... I've seen some that clearly show the mesh on top.

People were complaining about the proto pics, too.

Who should they listen to?

Were there complains on the proto? Haven't read or heard one so I don't know. One thing I know for sure is that the "released" photos didn't match or not even close (paint wise) to the proto they've shown.

Are you sure?
The lens looks above the mesh in that picture too, IMO.
I dont see why they(Stan Winstons crew) would change it at that stage to be honest.
I even zoomed in(although blurry) and it looks like its in front of the mesh.

It's the guys who are completely anti-HT that might've complained about the prototype. I guess from now on as a rule of thumb, if you're tempted to bash a prototype because of its sculpt, stop yourself; HT will bash back in the paint department.

:lol :dunno

Couldn't decide whether I was joking or being serious there, so yeah...

I don't recall any serious complaints, so i dunno why they changed it, especially at how there were complaints about Indy's face and hat right from the start and they didn't chamge that.

Plenty of compaints to change = no change from HT
Almost no complaints to change = change from HT

Dunno how they come up with these decisions :cuckoo:

I'll wait for some good photos and when I have it in hand before I start thinking that way. They may have changed the lenses, but I doubt that the paint won't be as good as the proto, it'll probably be better from my experience. That's not the HT I know and love.

I've seen some rare and very detailed photos showing the mesh over the lenses. The photo Larja posted was obviously a preproduction photo, because it hasn't got the final shape or even the lasers fitted yet.

I don't even think they listen to forums... They would have their own friends and retailers to get all the feedback they need.
