Yeah, the mouth paint still looks really really good. Shame about the head and eyes though.:monkey2
I dont understand why people are saying to wait until seeing OMGs pics before criticising the paint job. The pictures already shown are PERFECT at showing the paint job.
Its not the colours that bother me, its the paint job itself. The 'patterns' are not as 'detailed' as the proto...if you know what I mean.
Flash doesnt change a thing when it comes to that.
Maybe Im the only one whos bothered about the paint job itself, while everyone else is talking about the colour?
I must say that I still think the figure as a whole still REALLY impresses me and I cant wait to get it. Its just a shame that the quality has dropped since the proto. HTs could nail this if they wanted. Look at DX06 Jack Sparrow!

I don't know why no one not screaming about the bio mask !! It looks completely different from the original showing . It's looks a hell of a lot like the original mask which was completely wrong and terribly inaccurate . Why the hell would hot toys go back and change and change the bio mask back to this crap ??? I mean they had it so good and completely dropped the ball on this again . It must have something to do with 20th century fox not approving the new look for ring them to go back to what they had already got approval on 3 years ago . Just look at the bio mask !! It's all wrong from what i see in the pictures!!

I'll admit that when I first saw the latest bio mask it was like looking at the original P1 from 3 years ago, but then in some shots it looks alot better. I need this in hand.:gah:

Yeah, weve already mentioned the bio my friend. Why HTs make these silly decisions I will never know.:dunno
They probably just like giving me things to modify!:lol

The seams on the outside of the open mouth aren't too noticeable and the seams on the inside don't bother me at all (Shadow has that issue, but they're not completely obvious and the figure still looks ace even upon close inspection). What I noticed first in that open-mouthed sculpt picture was the googly eyes... then I saw the kickass paint apps on the teeth and inner-mandible flaps. Some amazing stuff there.

The eyes will be easy to modify, so I won't have a lot of trouble if I decide to do some customizing.

With me, it's the opposite. I'm cool with less spotting, I just sort of wish that the color wasn't some bright orange-yellow. If it was brown (as in, consistent with the colors and spotting on the rest of the body), he'd be absolutely perfect IMO. We still need more pics from more sources (not to mention the final, in-hand experience), but I think that if I were to look at this guy from across the room, the forehead colors would jump out more than the lack of patternation.

The seams dont bother me at all either. And your right about the eyes, they should be pretty easy to 'fix'.
Its not really about the lack of spotting, but rather the placement of the spotting. Its a small nit pick I know, but its something that slightly bothers me. Even more so because it looked fine in the proto.
Youre most likely right about the colours mattering more when viewed at a distance.

I noticed the ridiculous Bio as well, although better than the P1 Bio..it's still crap compared to the one they were going to use.

With the paint work they just cut back/ changed the paint application whereas with the bio it looks like they re-designed a completely different mask to the proto mask.

I don't think they redesigned it..I think the just took a P1 version and slightly altered it.

^^
Dont do that! Im trying to erase all memory of that awesome prototype!:monkey2
:lol

Its still going to be a badass figure though. But again, why HTs? Just tell me why!!
