It's the guys who are completely anti-HT that might've complained about the prototype. I guess from now on as a rule of thumb, if you're tempted to bash a prototype because of its sculpt, stop yourself; HT will bash back in the paint department.

:lol :dunno

Couldn't decide whether I was joking or being serious there, so yeah...

I think the complaints are more from Facebook, where people just complain for no reason there.

There were 10X more people complaining about the iphone 4 on the internet than there were iphone 4's made. :cuckoo::lol

I don't often complain about HT products but my concern on how the paint looks on the "final" piece I feel is a legitimate issue. This was one of the figures I've been anticipating for. It's just that I had high hopes for it... Oh well... in the end it's just a toy.. a $240 toy.

Haven't we all seen the photos that were posted a couple pages back or am I missing something?

EDIT: Ok, don't want to argue about it anymore. Everybody has their opinions and I have mine. I'll just leave it at that. Just to be clear, I only have 2 issues with the "final" figure I saw posted and all those are paint issues. The yellow eyeball and the "half painted" look on the face/head. That's it and if HT can fix those then great but if not then too bad.

Very funny.

:pfft:

But really, the people on their FB page are annoying as hell, and I doubt in between their OWN FB PAGE and Sideshowcollectors that they'd visit here more often.

Cool collection, RIDDICK! :clap:clap:clap

Dunno for what odd reason we need the "ignore list" if everyone can just quote every single silly person from it so you can see how silly they're again and again and agaaaaaaaaain. Yep, awesome... :lol

Anyway ontopic:
Very funny :pfft:

It sure is :yess:

And it was only about your words that most of the complaints goes from Facebook posters and how stupid it sounds.
So nothing personal, I even have no FB page.

But it's true! :monkey4 They spam every single pic like they own the place. :lol Complaining on every Cap. America pic, DX Indy pic and such.

I've seen some rare and very detailed photos showing the mesh over the lenses. The photo Larja posted was obviously a preproduction photo, because it hasn't got the final shape or even the lasers fitted yet.

Well, once again...you're wrong.

The "mesh" you've seen in any of the photos of the lenses are a reflection of a diffuser over a lighting rig.

The lenses of the Predator mask are a smooth, mirror-like material.

Yes, some sculptors tend to use the mesh on the lenses...but it's wrong and not movie accurate.

Just figured I'd correct you before you go spouting off about something you, obviously, haven't done any research on. :wave

:lol Oh, really? Don't take my word for it. SilentSurfer thought the same thing, but then he got verification directly from Steve Wang himself, and I quote: "Well, it's official. I heard back from Steve Wang, and I am mistaken. He says, "There is a mesh over the lenses".

Is that good enough for you?

:pfft::wave

So, is the Hot Toys mask right or wrong?

I would say wrong.
Even if the mesh IS on the outside of the movie mask(which I still doubt, as I need to see it with my own eyes), its way too big on the HTs mask.
It should be so fine that its barely noticeable unless you get right upclose to it.
I say it wouldve been better to have no mesh at all rather than the thick mesh.

I don't remember him saying the mesh was OVER the lenses, but he did verify that there IS mesh...and even if he did say it was over the lenses, it could mean either way..

..but Sabres, you had to have been there at the right time to catch that post, so don't feel bad.. :lol

If the mesh was on the outside.. I don't see how it's not noticeable almost at all throughout the movie.

The only time I remember seeing it in the movie is when he's heating up his wristblades, or when Arnold's hiding his mud-covered body while P1 inspects the area..and it looked like it was on the inside of the bio..
