:lol did not expect you to be gay. I ain't usual type of gay. Don't like chick flicks hate lady ga ga and Britney spears. Love horror gore and pred and alien.

Didnt wanna make ya feel awkward!
At the same time I aint going to lie.

Hey, it's totally cool. No reason to feel awkward about it, and if anything, I'd say you're in luck; wouldn't guys be more tolerant of collectors? Even if you're after a relationship, I would think a girl is much more likely to be critical. You've got a real advantage over the rest of us, come to think of it!

Thanks for the encouragement to open this figure, by the way. After spending half an hour basking in its kick-assedness, it blows my mind I was able to wait this long. Good lord, it's absolutely sublime. The head only came off once in the last hour and that was when I tried posing it downward (I'm going for the wrist detonator look). I simply put it back on, made sure it was secure, and life's good.
In all honesty, I actually dig the headsculpt -- a lot. In person it looks pretty damn close to the 1987 P1 (yeah, I said it) even in the mandible areas. Maybe they touched them up since the prototype days. As tempted as I was to display him unmasked though, I decided to use the BD helmet because:

1. I know the 1/4 P1 they're making will be even more accurate
2. I'll want to display it fighting the 1/4 Dutch, so he'll have to be unmasked and roaring anyway
3. Bigger figure = better paint apps (though you can't slam HT's 1/6 game anymore... it's perfection)

To conclude, it's a hell of a figure. Purists and trolls may not feel like they're getting their money's worth for $225, but I can easily tell that the $100 price increase from the first AVP Predators was put to good use.
Oh, and an extra pat on the back for using airbrush on the spots! Really pushes the realism of this guy, I only wish they did this on Shadow since he doesn't even seem like he's on the same playing field as Classic. Ah, well. They probably didn't put as much work into it to get it ready for the exclusives season. That and Shadow really struck me as a mere taste of improvements to come, most of which were firmly set in stone by Classic.

My night is officially awesome.

For mine the ball to the head didn't go completely into the socket, maybe 75% in, which caused the head to pop off way too easily. Some hot water worked out fine for me.

The ball in my head socket is tight as can be. It's the neck socket that seems to be the most common trouble spot, but for the most part, it'll stay.

Perhaps I reversed it? All I can remember is that the ball on mine didn't wanna go in all of the way which made for a loose hold. Hope it works out for you Blade.

It's fine. As long as you sort of 'cup' the head when you pose it, rather than simply pulling it in the direction you want (which I can't imagine anyone doing anyway), it's fine.

Mine pops off only if you are moving the head drastically. The headsculpt is VERY nice, and the new format to keep the mask on works really well (although I think the lower jaw should be able to stay put). Everything about this thing is stellar, and I am glad I chose to let Berserker go to make this the representation of the Predator in my collection.

However fine the 1/4 figure may be, I don't have nor want to make room to display more than the Enterbay T2 T-800 and a 1/4 Scale Endo T-800 (favorite movie creations of all time) if either company brings them to market. What would be really sweet is if the 1/4 Endo was made of polished metal.

So what if he's gay. He likes Predators. He's cool by me

:exactly:

Some people like men. Some people like women. Some people like Predators. And then there are people like Ecko and I who desire a threesome with Snooki and J-Woww. That's just how the cookie crumbles. No judgment needed :lecture:lol

Back to classic I actually took my berserker out of the super predator trio and placed him next to classic and gave berserker classics stand it actually looks awesome. The stand gives berserker that added height that makes him actually look like a 'super' predator compared to classic.

Love your setup there. I have my Berserker on Classics stand too; he was made for him.:yess: I may have to steal your Classic pose next time I re-pose mine with the unmasked head.:rock

The word for today is "ball socket". :yess::exactly::thud::thud:
There are lots of ball sockets in this thread. Ball sockets.

Effects done in movies that are limited by the techniques used to pull them off. I prefer the real things in movies to CGI, and I prefer the predators to remain being a guy in a costume b/c CGI just hasn't quite reached perfection, but when it comes to figures your not limited to a man in a costume. I mean would you expect a BD t800's BD HS to jet out further than arnies face like it did in the film.

You mean like this?! :lol

Tho I totally agree I'd say you what - Winston's Predators was perfect, and "you" can't improve something that's already perfect, so accuracy is what making those figures to look awesome. That's why tankman's (NECA) sculpts + Tsang's (HT's) paint/production = EPICWIN... and we're not going to get this anytime soon.

I just seen a detailed video on Classic vs P1 and to be honest I prefer classic!

P1s bio is way too big in proportional to body and his dreads are too short. The Classic head just looks better imo.

Also I find all this "Classic vs P1" talks and vids are just ridiculously funny.
You can't compare 2008 and 2011 figures - there's THREE YEARS of pure evolution in production, different licensing and marketing situations and ofcourse two different sculptors.

I'm pretty sure Ecko would want Laurence Fishburne thrown into that threesome..

Exactly..there's no need to change it, because IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED...
