I got this one locked in with Kit. If I cross my eyes and squint that sculpt looks like Mel.

Any Max sculpts currently out on the market that look better? Regardless it’s a good base for kitbashing. Decent price for what you’re getting.

Got my order in at KGHobby. A scratchbuilt V8 Inteceptor is now looking likely. As i don't have to worry about any working gadgets or even a good paint finish, it should be a quick build.

Can always go the 3D printing route - I've thought about it specifically for the Interceptor before.

Unfortunately, I don't have any room for 1/6 scale vehicles. My 1/6 figure collection is stretched thin on space as it is.

As for the head, not perfect but pretty darn good. I don't feel a need to swap it out if it comes out looking close to the prototype. I went ahead and preordered from KGHobby. I've had parts in the works for a 1/6 Road Warrior for 15+ years but never quite found everything I need to build him the way I wanted, so it's really nice to see this.

This was an automatic pre-order. Anyone considering waiting for another attempt better be a young person. I've been waiting over 20 years for one and this is the first (non-custom) that has popped up.

I pre-ordered through OneSixthKit. He's been pretty solid with pre-orders.

Another grail for me. I hope someone other than Mondo attempts a MacReady from "The Thing" and I'll be a very happy collector.

I'm going to Definitley plan a custom sculpt run with a good sculptor if That's the case. Lol

Very good point. I should probably go ahead and pre-order as well, just in case. Really wish VTS toys (aka DAM) would have done the classic Max. The quality of those figures rivals anything else out there, and I'm sure they would have knocked it out of the park.

And yes, McLane and MacReady are another couple of those small handful of figures that we never had made available, even to the custom audience for the most part. Seems like folks had to kitbash figures of those. The other primary one for me is Kyle Reese. Scott Pettersen did one, but only did full figures for around a grand and I just couldn't justify that. A solid, 3rd party 1/6 figure of all these guys would let me more or less round out the gaps in my collection.

Are we sure this isn't VTS under a different name? I have no evidence to suggest it is but just a hunch.

It's possible.

The specs say it comes with a stand, but it isn't shown in the photos. The tell tale would be if it was VTS/DAM's distinctive rectangular style.

Looks like they used two different bodies for this figure. Note the arm joint.

I don’t get the feeling this is a Dam/VTS side project due to the leather quality. I feel like the wasteland ranger they put out had more realistic leather

I have two of VTS' 'Wasteland Ranger' figures, and just had a look at them. One was more heavily weathered than the other but I don't know whether there's much to choose between them and Premier's photos.

Premier's looks like newer, stiffer leather, while VTS' was older, softer leather - the actual 1/1 Tom Hardy costume was a lot more worn and stitched together.

'Wasteland Ranger' ... 'Wasteland Gladiator' might be a clue, or just another company's emulation.

Art Figure's Hardy version was called 'Crazy Racer', which is closer to Present's 'Mad/Crazy Warrior'.

Art Figures interpreted the leather as so worn that they didn't use pleather at all, but made it more like suede.

Very unlikely. VTS does a very nice job with photography and presentation of their product. The graphic design of these product photos is not nearly as good as VTS.
