Just as long as "they' dont tread on your rights huh Josh?
Good thing "they" dont want to take away your virtual sniper rifle and lancer...
but wait some think those games promote anti social and violent behavior (ala Columbine).
Maybe not so far down the road.:horror

I prefer my virtual hack-hack-slash. :lol :p

I honestly don't buy into games making people violent. I believe that falls on the parents/guardians for not doing a better job of raising their kids.

Honestly, I just want the world to get along. The economy to get better, for war to stop, for people to live long healthy lives in financial comfort.

I suppose I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

Crazy gun owners crack me up when they make comments like this.
Why do you or anyone need assualt weapons? Plan on starting a gang and getting into a gang war? I'm cool with people owning guns and support the 2nd Amendment but assault weapons are something nobody needs to own.
Who the hell are you to tell me what I can own and what I can't. I have mine for target shooting and home defense. You don't like it, I could care less you arrogant SOB

Do you even know what an assault weapon is? It's a joke. Flash supressor, retractable stock, larger clip. Not much different from a run of the mill AR-15 you can get any time. The banning of them was a joke. Made no difference in crime. Why? VERY few crimes committed used them. Mostly pistols and shotguns. They look cool but not much additional functionality. I had one. Cool looking novelty but not much more.
Thank you. I just checked a database on homicides in 2007. All guns excluding handguns were responsible for 2,725 homicides. Knives, blunt objects, baseball bats, fist and feet were responsible for 3,296 homicides. I have my assault style rifle because I need to defend myself and my family from all the crazies with the bats and knives and fist of fury. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Josh.

You're right... The only real difference usually is the amount of bullets you can spit out at once, if set to Automatic, and depending on the rifle.

And it is about looks, it's to put fear in the eyes of your opponent, so they hesitate and you win by default. :gun
An actual AR type rifle cannot legally fire more than one roung per trigger pull. That's what most don't understand. There is a safe switch and a fire switch. I don't know what kind of hoops you want people to jump through. I get a background check to make sure I am not a felon, if not than I am legal to own one. People can own a fully automatic weapon. This you do have to jump through some hoops for and pay some kind of tax stamp. Problem is, it will cost you at least 7 to 10 grand at a MINIMUM.

And for me, that is the one bright silver lining in Obama's impending presidency. It guarantees that a) Hillary CAN'T run again in '12 (and hopefully never again), and that Romney WILL run again (and most likely win the nomination).

I don't see the Republican party backing a Mormon. It's bad enough McCain couldn't pick his running mate (i.e. Lieberman) like he supposedly wanted to and ended up with what I considered a desperate choice (Palin). Also I would like to add I don't think there is anything wrong with either choice, I am looking at it from a strategist POV. Same goes for Obama, he chose Biden for safe political reasons. And that chick isn't a dude?

Totally agree. The Evangelical base of the Republican party couldn't stomach nominating a Mormon. The Democrats, on the other hand, could. After all, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, arguably the most powerful Democrat in power, is Mormon. Though I don't see Reid himself running.

Keep it civil, bro. I know you love your guns, but no need to attack another member so verbally. Josh didn't call you out on anything, he was just voicing his opinion on the matter....

Everyone just needs to lay their emotions aside and be calm about things.

And thanks for the info about the rules regarding the rifles, gives me further incite into the matter. I think there are enough hoops for you to jump through, maybe we just need better control at the source or some other ideas?

Whether you think guns kill people or people kill people, guns are a weapon a weapon meant to inflict harm or kill something or someone.

Makes me sad that mankind is so smart but uses it's "intelligence" to create such evil things. We make guns to fight wars, to kill people, over what? What is ever solved. In midst of war we must never forget that killing is a sin or a crime.:(

I hope to never live anywhere where I feel that it's a must that I must own a rifle or handgun for my own protection.

Careful now Josh, sounds like you're starting to question people's upbringing, which if I recall is what you got upset at me about.

When the zombies attack, you'll sing a different tune.

All this talk about gun control and outlawing them makes me want to get one.
