But it does seem that you are implying that more conservatives give to charity for tax reasons than out of altruism, with no evidence to support that claim.

I also find it interesting to note how quickly people jump to the "wealthy= conservative" conclusion. Anyone here think Bill Gates is conservative? Think again.

I'm conservative, NOT wealthy, and I give a sizable chunk of my income, IN ADDITION to the insane amount of taxes I pay, to charitable causes.

It just gets kind of tiresome to have aspersions continually cast on your character.

Understandable. If it makes you feel any better i'm not conservative or liberal - i'm just for the best ideas and we tend to give most to charities!

Yes your are right in the fact that there are rich democrates and poor republicans but the point i was making was that this study didn't take in all factors of why people give therefore it cannot be the be all and end all of the "more conservatives give" arguement.

I'm all for online quizzes helping those undecideds, but this test is obviously slanted and full of loaded questions. I mean:

"Some say Barack Obama’s plans to implement sweeping environmental regulations will raise the cost of gas, groceries, heating and air conditioning. Do you favor or oppose Obama’s environmental plans?"

Basically, do you favor higher costs for living (because "some" say that this could happen under Obama). Hmm I dunno, some say McCain's plans could increase the national debt, therefore making the cost of living higher. Do you favor that? I'm not asking, just saying. Really, there are much better quizzes out there.
