Um...I ask again how is Obama knowing Bill Ayers (a member of a 60s radical group when Obama was 6 years old and is currently a respected professor)=ties to a terrorist? Does every one of his students have ties to a terrorist? Just asking...

Oh and churches are always a little wacky. It's what they do for the community that I respect. And I think both Palin and Obama's (former) church did great things in the community.

But you're right Mesa, these things would definitely make the Prime Minister debate more interesting :D

I watched those and I still wasn't impressed... I hope she doesn't nick another Ronald Reagen joke. That bugged.

https://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/26/newly-released-documents-highlight-obamas-relationship-with-ayers/

"Obama's association with Ayers, who now teaches at the university, has become an issue in the Illinois senator's presidential campaign. The Weather Underground took credit for several nonfatal bombings on targets that included the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, and critics accuse Obama of rubbing elbows with an unabashed 1960s radical.

The massive collection of newly released documents -- 140 boxes full of them -- includes agendas that clearly put Obama and Ayers in the same room for meetings of Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an educational initiative that Ayers was instrumental in starting and that Obama chaired in the 1990s."

The story does go on to show that Obama began to question the group Weather Underground's purpose and methods, but for me, sorry, it's all about the company you keep. If you're running for the highest office in the land, probably not a good idea to keep company with a known group of domestic terrorists.

And here's more.

https://elections.foxnews.com/2008/04/17/fact-check-obamas-relationship-with-william-ayers/

Clinton is correct that both men served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based charity that develops community groups to help the poor. Ayers joined the board in 1999 and is still on it. Obama left it in December 2002 after nine years.

Ayers was clearly more than someone Obama just ran into in the neighborhood on occasion. In the mid-1990s, when Obama was making his first run for the Illinois Senate, Ayers had Obama to his home to introduce him to others.

But I'll concede, their relationship seems to be loose at best.

I predict Palin will bomb at the debate. She can't handle pressure, and Biden will no doubt put pressure on her now... having no doubt seen the Couric interview.

She's very adept at working a crowd, going for emotional surge, evangelical almost in her religious fervor, and jokes. This won't work on a silent crowd and a single moderator, even without Biden applying pressure. At least IMO.

It will certainly help and work in Biden's favor that the moderator is an author that has a financially vested interest in seeing Obama win the election.

I hope Palin congratulates Gwen Ifill on her new book titled "Age of Obama" just before the debate starts.

This liberal media isn't holding anything back. They must be too firghtened to provide an unbiased moderator that doesn't have a conflict of interests.

I agree with you on this. I think for any presidential or vp debate, it is important to have an impartial moderator. However, as John McCain himself pointed out, he has confidence in Ifill being professional and objective:

https://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/10/01/mccain-i-have-confidence-in-ifill/

Either way, conflict of interest is there, but I think I agree with McCain (wow, a first!) that she is professional enough to do her job. I have a feeling no matter what happens, the right will accuse Ifill of being biased, as long as she asks one tough question.

Fox News Blames Democrats for Financial Crisis, Bill Clinton Agrees

Going very much against the media meme that the current financial crisis is all George W. Bush and the Republicans' fault, Bill Clinton on Thursday told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac" (video available here, relevant section at 2:45).

Huh thats weird because i recall that republicans controlled congress and the senate during Clinton's presidency.

Seems like they can't have it both ways. If it is the Democratic congress' fault for the mess we're in now, it was the Republican congress' fault for not fixing it then.

In the end the entire poitical system is at fault for the current economic crisis. Both parties have failed and now we have to clean up the mess.

But lets be real for a minute to blame the entire economic crisis on Fannie Mae is just stupid. Part of the problem - and a big one at that - is that unemployment is at its highest levels since Reagan and that is Bush's and the neocons fault.

But in the end both parties are to blame for our banking crisis.

Yep. Oh and from some of the apparent fear going around on the GOP side, what are the chances do you think of Palin being wired during Thursday's debate? There was a lot of speculation that Bush was in 2004. I'm not saying she needs a wire (I think they need to let her be her down-home self, and not try to make her something she is clearly not), but it was wierd to see McCain sitting with Palin on the Couric interview, almost making sure she doesn't say someting wrong. Anyway, just curious.

If the Republicans contolled Congress and the Senate, Clinton would have not only been impeached, he would have been forced from office.
