If the Republicans contolled Congress and the Senate, Clinton would have not only been impeached, he would have been forced from office.

The American public put a stop to the whole process because it was way over the top, and the republicans did control both congress and the senate - look it up.

Clinton passed the legislation that repealed the Glass-Steagal Act. The repeal has been accused of loosening regulation on banks' lending practices, hence permitting the predatory, greed driven behavior that led to all of this.

Ironically enough, what the legislation did was require banks to pass more stringent standards of CRA compliance before they were permitted to take any major actions, such as mergers. If banks did not show a dedication to providing loans to high-risk borrowers, then mergers, etc. would be denied.

From tonight's interview with Katie Couric-

I have no idea what Palin is talking about. And apparently she doesn't either.

Yeah.... that interview was atrocious. The only thing she could come up with was Roe vs. Wade? Nothing else? most of her time on camera was spent rambling on about nothing.

I'm actually very interested to hear how your experiment turns out. My hunch is that it will be different than what you are expecting, but it will be interesting, nonetheless. Please follow up with us.
Oh I will. It might not be for a little while...gotta get the shirts ready!

Nothing will be TOO insulting, but it will defintly stike a cord with either party.

And im sure I will get killed because the REP kids we have at my school are ^^^^ing nuts....one kid even spat on Obama T-Shirts at a mall....so. :horror

That'll show em...

She didn't finish a single sentence in response to that question. It was just a jumble of incomplete thoughts strung together.

"We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state."

So when she said it is Alaska's job to keep an eye on Russia, where was she when they attacked Georgia?

You can see the fear in Palin's eyes as she tries to come up with her best BS and redirect the question to something she has actually thought about, in this instance abortion and a feeble attempt at assuaging the likelihood that she will attempt to get Roe v Wade overturned.

I just wish she'd be honest about the limits of her knowledge rather than copy George Bush with flimsy, rambling BS punctuated with simplistic, good feeling talking points like "country first". I still find it amazing that George W Bush ran as a reformer just like McCain is attempting. :lol The American people aren't quite that stupid. They know McCain/Palin is more of the same republican crap and they either like that or they don't. Thank goodness the polls show most don't and Obama is winning. :chew

What if it's all an act? What if she's trying to come off as community college dropout on purpose?

Think about it. No one can be that deer-in-the-headlights. I've seen clips of Alaska's Governor's debate and she did fine.

So long as she doesn't have one of these moments tomorrow, the Republicans will blanket the media with how she won the debate. She can come off as unqualified and inexperienced and a dangerous pick to be the Vice President to a 72 year-old melanoma survivor... She can defend Wasila's practice of charging sexual assualt victims for their rape kits when they go to the police... She can own up to fudging on her record when she claimed she said "thanks, but, no thanks to that bridge to nowhere..." She can admit to firing that guy for not firing her ex-brother-in-law as State Trooper. But so long as she speaks in complete sentences, all the media will talk about is how she wowed them at the debate.
