Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

I'm glad she's not in the new movie. I found her to be quite anoying at times. Fresh start. New movie. And.....

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

I'm very interested in this movie.

I love ancient astronaut **** and this looks like neo-mythological stuff with alien "gods" meddling with the creation of life with catastrophic results.

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

hope Ridley stays healthy getting on now, and really do love his work. Genius.

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

Ridley has done some great movies that I love to watch over-and-over (Alien, Bladerunner). Some of the rest I've watched once and never will again. Prometheus is one of those that REALLY polarises opinion - I've always been SO disappointed (actually - bloody annoyed is more like it) with it.

I quite liked this scene though.

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

I haven't seen it in a long time, but I remember thinking the big picture and themes in the movie work just fine and has a lot of food for thought, but it's got way too many small brainfarts and little attention to detail for being a hard sci-fi.

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

Even with the issues, I loved Prometheus. Any negative thoughts towards the ambiguous ending I always assumed would be answered. Hopefully this new flick does just that.

I really adore the visuals too. Ridley is a magician which a camera

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

Visuals are very nice, and I don't mind the ending, of course it was sequel bait.

But stuff like science guys acting against scientific curiosity or just common sense is what I mean by lack of attention to detail, which aren't really just details :lol

I never got into any debates about it, is there any rationalization or analysis about the map stuff, the snake stuff and other things of the sort?

All that is in the deleted scenes. Comic book girl 19 did an epic breakdown.

She also spoke about the original script, which sounded great and would have been much more popular with general audiences. What made Prometheus really intriguing was all the big philosophical questions. Which wasn't there in the first draft of the script

Saw it, even posted it myself in the thread back then IIRC.

Nothing that really fixes the issues, I was hoping for some geek's analysis that tried to make sense of that stuff.

I get all that, it's pretty much ancient astronaut and Zechariah Stitchin stuff infused with Giger visuals.

Ah lol. There Is the twin perfect video, but I do t remember what they covered that CBG19 didn't.

I remember a sense of closer from all the logic questions from everything out there personally

Re: Prometheus Sequel (ALIEN: Paradise Lost)

The fact that the guy (guys!?) in that video clearly state that they're gonna "definitively" answer the biggest questions of the movie while "knowing full well we could be totally wrong" is hilarious. Nerds.
