Exactly what Mogli said. I have owned every system from last gen/this gen and I owned both the xbox and PS2 when they were released. I will also own the Ps4 and the xbox one and I already own the Wii U. I'm not a fanboy I enjoy all the systems for what they are, but it is kind of a ****ty thing to say who cares about the poor people/people that can't get good internet as well as the Military. It's just arrogant. Because really the people that are living out in the country that have no access to cable/dsl internet usually aren't poor since it costs a lot to buy land around here and I'm sure that goes for all of the US and other countries.

:exactly: Yeah they definitely aren't all poor people. I know of people with million dollar houses who have no broadband coverage where they live, yet they are surprisingly close to several cities. No Xbox One for them! :lol

I've also owned all the systems, and I couldn't care less about fanboy arguments. The comments from MS fanboys I was referring to were ones directed at the military and people with bad connections, basically stuff like "who cares about those people/that country", "if they're poor they don't deserve to play console games anyway", things of that nature.

Your initial comments read in a similar way to me, and I was hoping you could clarify your actual position, since saying "who cares" doesn't convey anything other than arrogance. I think you've made yourself clear now, to some extent.

It's ok the internet can be like that. For the record I respect the military, my Grandad died in the War. I was also in the Air Force for a very short time as a junior. As for poor people I give to charity when I can.

BUT. The fact that those people can't play XB does not really factor into the logic of deciding whats better for technology or the future of gaming or my decision for purchase. You may as well insert - Alien, disabled person, fat person - then continue on slating MS. People acting like it's some kind of deliberate act are just not thinking clearly. Those people effected are just unfortunate that this is how this particular avenue of technology is going. "screwing people over" is implying that everyone is entitled to something and a strong stance to take.

Did anyone ever say at the MS meeting table "what about the military, can we factor them into the decision?" Unlikely!! They are just one of the thousands of groups effected by the avenue they have decided to take.

Yeah the internet sucks most of the time. :lol I'm glad to hear your positions about the people left out, I wish more people would make that clear if they feel that way.

And yeah I don't really think MS is doing this maliciously, and I agree they didn't consider who was left out as much as who would not be greatly affected by the DRM choices like the check-in, such as the huge online multiplayer fanbase MS has. This attitude is what bothers people, that it's not really malicious and trying to hurt people, but thoughtless and troubling if this becomes the standard, since it caters to a more specific audience, when console gaming usually had no such restrictions.

I will disagree with you that who is left out is not important in deciding what's best for the future of gaming, I think it is, and it does influence my personal decisions. But I agree that no one is entitled to anything, we simply don't buy the product if we don't want it. But whatever influence we can have, I think everyone should take advantage of, if we want things to turn out differently.

At this point, I think I'm repeating myself too much, so sorry to anyone annoyed by my walls of text. :lol

I agree thanks for finally pointing out exactly your reasoning for that. I don't agree, but I also don't disagree with you on what you said. More people need to actually explain their reasoning behind their thinking rather than simply stating who cares. :1-1:

Again, what MS is doing has nothing to do with "advancing technology" and "reaching the future".
Yeah it's really pure anti-piracy, and the lock out is ridiculous. No advancement except maybe in DRM measures, if you call that "advancing". :lol MS should stop trying to disguise it, but they won't lol.

Let's be realistic here this will very likely the last system that has physical media, and I can see physical media dispersing for these systems before they end of their lifespan(especially on the Xbox). At that point if you have no broadband your screwed.

I think the only thing we might see change would be no Internet check for digital delivered games. Reason being that there is no way to loan, sell, trade ect.. a digitally delivered game.

Disregarding the fact that, once again, you have no way of knowing that... You can download games from Steam and don't connect to the internet never ever ever again, and you can still play that game...

That's cool. I totally get that. People don't like change - it's scary. Thing's move quickly, so much so that there is a perception that we are being "ripped off". I for example collect Blu Ray's, I have no doubt that in 5-10 years time they will become as obsolete as VHS. I still collect them though. Should I stop collecting them now? Where do you draw the line? It's a crappy situation :lol

Yep...nothing at all...... :lecture

Quoted.....

SmartGlass + IE is going to be pretty freaking sweet. 1 finger cursor, 2 finger direct manip. Basically if you think of a laptop trackpad where your phone/ slate is the trackpad and the monitor is your TV… it’s that. The tech is there, just needs to be applied. There is some really cool **** going on with Petra + controllers that pairs people with controllers. So if person with controller two trades controlers with controller 1, their profiles magically switch. It’s sick. What does this matter? Now if you lean left/right it knows which person is leaning, even if 4 people are all int he same room. It’s awesome.

The cloud capabilities is the **** they like the most. We basically made a huge cloud compute **** and made it free. What people are doing with it is kind of cool. THe original intention was to get all the Multiplayer servers not requiring 3rd party costs (Like EA shutting down game servers to cut costs), as well as taking all the games that servers hosted by the clients (Halo, etc), and have all that compute done in the cloud allowing more CPU cycles for gameplay. That will really expand what developers can do. Anything that doesn’t need per frame calculation and can handle 100ms delays can be shifted to the cloud. That’s huge

>Google TV + PS4 + Minority report level gestures, that combined with a sick second screen experience (which is really hot for TV, I know I know.. tv tv tv tv tv… but it’s ****ing sick when you have it). Games will be the same, there are more exclusives to MS then PS atm, and Kinect 2 makes Kinect 1 look like a childs toy.

Streaming games sounds cool but I wouldn't want to depend on it

Well if its anything like Onlive it will be ****ty. That being said I haven't tried onlive in a good long while so they might have fixed any issues they had.

Once again, boned for not being specific :lol

What I meant by "what MS is doing"... was the restrictions and the drm policies, which was what it was being discussed at the time.

I've said before that I do find some of the XB1 features interesting.

But to immediately tag everything XB1 related as innovative in the good sense of the word, is delusional.

Cloud computing and saving documents in the cloud aren't even remotely the same.:slap

*sigh, you're really on fire.... :slap:slap:slap

The point was to demonstrate that it didn't come from MS... DUUUUUUUH!

Apple and Onlive were already working on that....

I even remember that Crytek was working on that years ago...

Where is the option for both?

I'm all about the games. Each system has great exclusives. I have a PS3 and a 360 now. I'll continue that tradition with this generation as well.
