Can't disagree with most of you. The hobby is changing and RM isn't really changing with it. There is a disconnect with the source material because he's not a die-hard fan of most of the characters he's producing. Without that personal connection he doesn't understand important aspects of the characters as the die-hards do. He doesn't have that burning itch like Beto to cross all the t's and dot the i's; there isn't that same OCD level of accuracy research here. I'm not faulting him over it, it just seems to be the way it is.

The manip with the glasses looks good but who wants to hide a RM sculpt? I'd like it to look equally as good with and without the shades.

I was really hoping that this one was going to dodge the "style" bullet (as some releases do) but it got grazed. I don't think the sculpt is 1000% there, but it's not far off either. It really is close enough but I feel the paint is what's throwing it off. Like the others said I agree that the irises are a little big and the eyebrows are a smidge thick.

I've been marinating on this for a while now... got some thinking to do....

I am fairly sure my Mohawk version will have the shades on all of the time.

Yep he needs to be displayed with them no reason to take them off unless your planning on bloodying him up and doing final scene

I really like it also. The sculpt could use some refinements and the if the patch is inaccurate that should really be fixed , it shouldn't be that difficult surely.

In terms of the amount we pay for these things I'll admit I have to think really hard about it sometimes. Considering I don't buy hot toys at all now and I appreciate Rainman figures much more I just think I'd rather have this than 3 or 4 hot toys figures.

I really like it too. I actually like Rainman's style on the sculpt. Not everything is perfect but I'd say it's darn close. Just a couple of things that'll hopefully be improved a bit and it will be top notch!

Glasses don't come with the regular H + C sets... So in a way...if you want to cover up the eyes then you are forced to go the FS or DX route...Anton, Doc, and Bill did not need glasses...and are frankly the best likenesses in the 1/6 scale...it's really frustrating to see the miss on this one given all the source material that was given...almost innascusable...

Guys. I am not usually that put off by likeness on RM's stuff. I loved both PF sculpts for instance. But, this is no where close to capturing the attitude of the character. I see a drag queen with a mohawk. I hope it's just the lighting of the pics, but right now I don's see a $1K+ figure value.

Woke up to take another look and Im still in shock over this. He based the sculpt details exactly off of the most obvious promo pic because it was an easy profile, instead using it as more of a refrence point for face structure.

I gotta agree, even with the glasses on it looks like hes puckering up for a kiss.
It is hard to critique and not sound insensitive but its off. Its a very large sum of money again for this and personally im a bit withdrawn.

It would be wrong to expect more, so really the difficulty lies in passing on this.
