I think what plays into this that compared to his other releases, these are easily bashable and there are many sculpts out there to put these together. In comparrison, when you take past RM figs like The Butcher, Alex, or Wonka, these are near impossible to bash.
Yeah, that was my initial reservation, but somewhere along the way I decided that the quality of the Rainman suits was going to make it worth the purchase of the head/outfit sets. I think the Jules head looks great in emerae's pics. Just anxious to get this in-hand and to begin the futzing to see if I can make him look good next to Vince.

im curious of the quality too. Let us know what you think.

Can't wait to see it set up.....but I can't see Jackson in that sculpt....anyone knows who owns that painted sculpt Nathan did?
Curious if they have it set up already

Surprised my H & C set came in today too as I wasn't expecting it for at least a few more days. Also got the Dork clothes, so I just need to put it together when I get the time in the next few days. Here are a few crap pics just to give you guys more views and ideas of how the H & C set look. I used a crappy old point and shoot camera with flash, so the skin tones are a little darker in person. Would've like to get some of the new looking white boxes for this set as well, but I guess it was only for the Fulll Set orders! :(

Got Jules this morning. I'm really happy with him. Don't know why people are complaining about. I got the h&c set and am using an old wide shoulder HT true type with leg extenders and the Obama true type hands and neck adaptor. Here's a couple of crappy iPhone pictures:

CTech,
Your set looks cool. I like that vincent looks a little heavier set. good work. quick question, hows the suit quality???

Even from those fuzzy pics I can see I'm going to have my work cut out sourcing a decent bash option. If I had the cash I would've gone the full sets for each of these, despite my slight misgivings about the sculpts. The suits look good, especially how the ties sit in those collars.

There were several aspects beyond just the suits that had to be tackled to set these apart from what's easily bashable and make them Rainman worthy. People were expecting this line to hit on all 12 cylinders and it only ended up hitting on 8. The ability to have made this fire on all 12 is well within RM's capabilities and that's where all the disappointment comes from. Were there some aspects of the duo that RM could have easily improved on? Yes. Does it seem like these suffered from a rush in production?; based on how we witnessed it all play out, it's hard to think otherwise.

But now that the smoke has cleared a bit I think it's fair to recognize some of the upsides. If you're looking for less expensive alternatives for a bash then there are definitely generic options out there. But if your OCD requires the more accurate details like their guns, shoes, wallet, drink, watch & jewelry and aspects of the suits (vent-less jackets, flat flapless pockets, Vince's single button closed jacket, Vince's long pointed shirt collar, Jules' open jacket, pinch in Jules' shirt collar, Vince's tailored to fit a padded TTM21, Jules' made to fit a taller figure) then these are things that aren't easily bashed to this standard and can't be found on the market. For those who are building up the dork versions, then you’ll definitely never find anything close to those outfits out there. To get custom made to spec details like this come at a premium. They're not shelf poppers; they're dudes in black suits. This release is for diehard fans that need these custom touches on these guys.

It's fair to say that a few aspects fell short and that's what makes them not fully live up to the average Rainman release, but I can't say that this doesn't feel like a RM release at all.

I can't speak fully on Jules until tomorrow, but my initial thoughts of Vince hasn't changed. Yea I think the eyes took away from the likeness but aside from that there's a lot of Travolta in the sculpt and I do really like the way handled the hair; especially being a late in the game re-work. The figure is all class and feels like a piece of art from RM.

I love Vince but he's dependent on Jules. Fingers crossed that when I get J here tomorrow, these two will tie together like I'm hoping. Jules may need a little love out of the box but I hope that it all fits in the end.

That does look good!

You're talking about the 01? The Tom Cruise one?

Now that looks great Ed. Maybe the Enterbay body just wasn't the way to go.

:rolleyes2 :rolleyes2 :monkey3

RM's head sculpts are kinda on the big side. The slim body won't fit. I have to source other suits then.

I got used to HT size sculpts because I have so many but I realize now that HT sculpts are very undersized. These larger custom sculpts are WAY more anatomically correct. Maybe there are ones that are too big like his Anton but something like Vince is perfect

Thanks.
Suit quality is really good. I like that he used different fabrics on both figures. You can tell in the movie that their suits are different.

Thanks. Yeah, mine is the Pirates of the HT Caribbean Sao Feng body which is the same as the Tom Cruise body or the very first Joker body they were using, all with the really wide shoulders which makes the suit fit just fine. I just added leg extenders for the extra height and I'm using the Obama or African American body hands and pegs.

Nice photos Ed. What would the old wide shoulder body translate to in terms of recent more available body types? Are any of the new True Types anywhere close?

I spent some time staring at my Rainman figures and I realize that so many people see both Vincent and Jules as let downs because they don't have outfits and accessories that have that WOW factor. I look at Jules and Vincent's suits and accessories and then my Doc H and Wonka or Plainview and Anton outfits and accessories and the craftsmanship is all there, Jules and Vince's suits and accessories are top notch with no let downs, the quality is fantastic, but all people see are "oh another black suit, oh another silver gun, bleh" but thats what these characters use and wear and they are done really well, if these types of outfits don't impress you then why bother even thinking of buying these figures. As for the sculpts I believe likeness is in the eye of the beholder because I love both sculpts and see amazing likeness with a Rainman touch, and thats who made these figures, Rainman, so what else did you expect. Overall I am extremely happy with both figures and I think some people need to really examine the quality in both these figures especially in person before they bad mouth them even though they are simple outfits, the detail is there, looking at a few crappy iPhone pics doesn't cut it, I guess in the end what everyone else thinks doesn't matter as long as you are happy with it, and like I said I am, I just feel people are too quick to bash a figure.

They are basically the TTM10/14/18 but with beefier shoulders. Sounds like there are other equivalents to the 01 as Comm mentioned but I'm not hip to them.

If anyone knows ones aside from the original Joker and POTC Feng post them up! I'm sure people will be on the hunt.

I'm lucky enough to have an 01 MIB. They all come in handy sooner or later
